Susie,my husband takes gaba during the day all the time.   don't know that it matters when you take it.  barbara

Jan,

I did try GABA last night, but only 250 mg as I am sensitive & wanted to start low. I didn't notice any improvement but are you saying that you can also take it in the daytime & it won't make you sleepy? I had to back off the mag oil because my skin (which is very very dry to begin with) became very irritated & itchy & even drier from the constant applying & rinsing off the oil. My naturopath said oral mag is ok to take, esp. if you can't comply with the transdermal, it's better to take it orally than not at all. Thanks for your suggestion.

the caps he has are 5 caps = 1,000mg niacin, 500 mg gaba, 3,000 mg inositol.  i think he wanted the one with inositol, can't remember why, but suppose to work better.  i think he takes just 1 cap a day.

he has severe anxiety so not sure how it works for him as he also uses a couple other things.   this helps with the serotonin levels which kind of helps everything.  look on the label to see how many caps equals the daily serving.  to look at this label it looks like those amounts are from 1 cap, but it takes 5 caps to equal that amount.  so, check the serving size and you may be taking only a partial serving.  which means you can easily increase it to get the benefit.  also consider that it may take a while to build up in your system to give the desired effect.  often that is the way it works when taking these types of supps.  just as anti depressants take time to work, they are actually filling the same receptors, so stands to reason, this may work the same, however, much safer.

Barbara,

How many mg does he take? I have only tried 250 mg & it isn't really doing much, but SO afraid to try higher, but I think I'm going to have to.
