thanks jan, does seem logical it would be mag.  i've had 3 days of improvement, then starting to have problems again.  however,  after rereading some info on the benzo withdrawal i'm dealing with, all these symptoms also are listed there.  however, again, i had these attacks before i ever did the benzos.  how confusing.

today, the symptoms are increasing again, with added anxiety and stomach problems.  BUT i also decreased/tapered the valium 2 nights ago, which always makes things worse for several days. sooooo,  we are hoping that these good days show i've made good progress with the lyme and co treatments/detoxing  but the benzo taper is adding to the symptoms, just not sure how much

only have about 2 mo left of benzo taper and then things will become more clear. so, i do believe the mag has had a positive affect and will keep it up.  i have been doing it on my arms during the day.  i had increased the % above 50%, but it burns too much so decreased it back to 50% and is better.

anyway, thanks for the info and support.  really appreciate itbarbara

Hi Barbara congrats on finding out that the heart palps and stuff may be magnesium deficiency  related.Id actually increase the magnesium to twice a day  to stop the afternoon evening symptoms, even if it means another shower ( or you can wipe down with a wet washcloth or towel. The heart takes magnesium , potassium and calcium to function properly, so having symptoms slow down may well show that you had magnesium deficiency.Twice a day or even three times a day will be good while your mag levels build up.I often do my mag oil twice a day  to stop nerve pains

thanks jason, it is encouraging to hear from someone who has been there.  sometimes i think i sound nuts, which i probably do, but it helps to have that encouragement and understanding.barbara

Hi Barbara. I just wanted to comment to encourage you in your benzo taper. I had to do the same thing, first with hydrocortisone which took 7 months, and then Klonopin and I honestly can't remember how long it took which surprises me. It was at least several months and I was able to come off more quickly because Seroquel helped me sleep (which is why I was given the K in the first place). I finally weaned off the Seroquel last summer, sleeping without RX sleep aids for the first time in three years. I know how hard it is, especially as you suffer SX from Lyme, co-infections, thyroid, adrenals, etc., etc.. I wish that I had known about mineral deficiencies back then, especially mag. I think that Jim has you on the right track with mag.
