Guest guest
Re: NACD apointment Posted by: " garyangiep " garyangie@... garyangiep Date: Sat Jul 11, 2009 12:21 pm ((PDT)) Do you know what the difference is between HANDLE and ICAN and NACD or are they all essentially the same. I've been on all of their websites and I have ordered the Glenn Doman books from our library that pertain to ICAN. From the HANDLE website it seems as though this is something less time consuming compared to ICAN and NADC as their website indicates you only have to do the exercises once per day which is less than 30 minutes. I imagine that the more significant the underlying impairments, the greater the time requirement to help the brain take on healthier functioning. We do the Son-Rise program with our son and I know they advocate for HANDLE, but I don't know about the others. Just curious if anyone can enlighten me on how you choose a program/center. I liked NACD b/c they have an SLP that you can consult with as well which I think could be useful for my son too. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Angie --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ -------------------- Angie and others, We with ICAN will be glad to send you an information packet about our work. Just go to the web site at icando.org and contact the neurodevepmentalist closest to your location. All of us have trained with Sara Rosenfeld for oral motor therapy along with many other things. There are differences and similarities with our approaches. Blessings on all your efforts to help your children, Kay - icando.org
