Guest guest
Sundeep, I have been an oncology nurse for 9 years and have assisted with more than hundreds of bone marrow biopsy procedures. Of course with any invasive procedure there.are risks of infection and risk of bleeding. Usually a local anesthetic is used such as lidocaine. It can be painful but if they use plenty of lidocaine and give it time to work, it is pretty well tolerated. IMHO, With your wbc and plt counts i would definitely do it if i were you. God's speed. Praying you will make the best decision for you. PS i have never seen anyone end up with infection or bleeding. The procedure is done using sterile technique. God bless, Cherie I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Phil. 4:13 > > > > Subject: Bone marrow test > > > > Hi Guys, > > > > My oncologist is thinking of to do bone marrow test. I have the platelet count always in 90s for 3 years. My WBC has been around 3.13- 4.00 little low. Im concerned whether I should do this procedure. Im sure the test will say nothing wrong. Im kind of concerned if it is safe to do it? Anyone know the side effects of it and the possible future complications? > > > > Thanks, > > Sundeep. >
