Jodie, from my experience bart is really hard on the stomach.  i remember both my husband and i being on rifampin abx for bart. it created quite a 'stomach herx' for both of us.  tom didn't eat much for weeks--and he eats everything.  he lost weight which is almost impossible for him.  and was generally  sick allover, really fatigued also.  it was a very hard 2 wks.

before i was on abx, i was sometimes so sick to my stomach i couldn't stand up.  stomach pain also.  couldn't eat.  really sick 'inside'.  infact, i have not coiled for bart for almost 2 months now since i had that bad herx.  actually, not coiled for anything except once for candida.  i am starting to experience stomach issues again, bad, just like before. and intense heat inside my body, sweating worse.  wonder if bart is back??

are you experiencing any 'heat' issues, like feeling very warm throughout?  or is it just stomach?  pain?  nausea?  both?  have you had stomach issues before this herx?  more fatigued?

what's going on?barbara

Barbara or anyone, I am interested in any info. related to herxing from bart. that relates to the " gut " . What were the symptoms, pain, issues that came from it. Any info. would be great. TIA, Jodie L

Barb, My son is the one having the stomach issues.....BUT heat...OMG, YES! My

son is ice cold and I am sweating like crazy. I don't understand

it..............I am either taking hot showers to warm myself up.....and as of

late.....so dang hot I can't take it...

If your gut is acting back up, I wouldn't be surprised about the bart....at

all....plus the sweats and heat! Why does this have to be so dang horrible to

go through???? Both my son and I have " gut " issues, but his is really acting up.

I have had some " nasty " herxing....that is for sure. When I was pushing too

hard....it felt like someone had taken a hammer to my entire lower body,

especially my legs. I try to stay positive....but sometimes it gets tough :) I

wonder how the lyme or myco feels in contrast to the bart and babs. I am

curious if it is just as nasty to deal with......or easier????? Who knows

maybe it would be a cake walk barb....in comparison....we can only hope :)

ojodie,so sorry you BOTH have to go through this.  these are some of the symptoms that hit me every 30 min, 24/7 for the last 10 yrs, so i truly understand.  but i can't imagine having to do it with a child also.

i was always dressing in layers.  take iT off, put it on, over and over every 30 min.  so, tank tops and mid length sleeve shirts is what i had to do.  off, on, off, on.  and the heater in the car.  it's a miracle i didn't wear it out.  we got another car that has dual thermostats.  we were both so excited about that because we could both be comfortable.   i really feel for you, and there are two of you.   sleeping:  are you having to put covers on, take them off? on, off all night?  makes sleeping hard.  then chills, really cold with goose bumps.  the heat is like you are cooking inside?

i don't know  which is worse, the neuro or this part.  but, the worst will be over in less than two weeks, or that is what i remember on the rifampin.  when i started coiling for it i did it more slowly and really can't remember.  but it was tough for a while.

so, you have the heat/sweats and chillsyou have the g.i. issues.you have the irritability also?  anything else?give yourself lots of grace through this.  sounds like you hit the mother load this time.  i went through this before i knew about detox.  so i'm sure your's will be a little easier to clear.  go slow because there are two of you going through it.  please take care of both of you.

Hey Jodie and Barbara,

I have only rifed for bart 4x and the last was for a mere 30 secs a week ago. I had what I consider to be a really bad herx with terrible ear ringing, lightheadedness, anxiety and fatigue. It's been 7 days and the ringing persists but the lightheadedness is back to where I was before as is the buzzing in the ears. I am left with a little more than my usual fatique and today I had loose BMs which is really unusual for me. I really can't imagine going back on the rife/coil for another few days and I will definately do it for less time (maybe 15 secs.). I find these posts to be really scary. I expected to herx but was hoping that between the herxes and treatment I might not feel so bad still. I fear continuing to "add on" symptoms to what I already have. At this point I am wondering whether I should just bite the bullet and go to a LLMD somewhere in FL. Has

anyone in FL found one they are comfortable with. I would like one that leans toward alternative treatments vs. abx. My current natural doc dabbles in Lyme and does not know enough about it to treat me.

I really don't have a support system in my family. They are happy I can keep going and doing what I have to. If I continue to decline this will not be the case. Any suggestions.

Thanks, /Gwen(yahoo id)

Hi ,You don't mention detoxing. When you kill critters, their toxins are what makes the unpleasant herxes. This can be reduced by good detox, like using clays, coffee enemas, FIR sauna, extra hydration, alkalizing, etc. I've also found that Alka-Seltzer Gold or some other means of alkalizing helps. Detox is a full third of my protocol. One must support the liver and GB in dumping toxins, or the build-up will continue to make you feel worse. It's not enough to clean house. You must take out the trash or it will still be unlivable.Be well,Léna Hey Jodie and Barbara, I have only rifed for bart 4x and the last was for a mere 30 secs a week ago. Lena,

I agree that I do not have a good detox program. Enemas just aren't going to happen. I am drinking alot of water and it is a pH of 8. I could do better with keeping the acid /sugar out of my diet. I would love a sweat program but I am really heat intolerant. I was/am still dancing despite feeling like this. I figure I sweat and push the toxins through at the same time. I eat Fiber one and I must say that I am going regularly for the first time in maybe ever. YEAH. What can I do other than that (remember no enemas)? The gluconannan just seemed like a super fiber to me. I was on an actual detox program years ago (before I knew I had lyme) and I remember extreme fatigue. Perhaps that is the problem in and of itself not the just the dead bugs alone. One can only hope.

Would you go on the rife again now if you were in my place? Or wait?

thanks,

cindy,i think many people look at these lyme treatments, like rifing, as a pill that will take away the symptoms while it kills.  i have heard some say they rife a certain area and the symptom in that area went away.  i only wish that would happen for me because i always get worse.  i believe i have a heavy 'bug' load and don't detox well, as my herxes seem to last a long time.

i found for me, that when i starting doing detoxing, as i knew nothing about it before i came here, i did a little better.  i have been on abx twice, once for 3-4 months (didn't know it was lyme then) and then again again 18 mo for lyme and cos.  my first one lasted 5 months because they overdid the killing of too many bugs at the same time and no detox.

bart is mean and it sounds like you hit it.  i had been on abx for the 18 mo. before i coiled with only few months break between treatment so was able to start higher, but i remember the rifampin herx was bad.  by waiting a wk or more between treatments, you allow the bart to grow back and repopulate to where it was before.  perhaps you could do less time more often.

let this herx clear.  then try again for 10 sec. and see what happens. i have also found that it seems not all the herx will clear before you treat again, but the worst part will.  while treating i sometimes have irritating things like the dizziness that hang on. that may be the brain not detoxing and you need to take something for that.  there are those who can advise on the detox for that better than i.  i know burbur and pinella helps with that.  i have some but can't remember where i got it.

it sounds like you have had constipation?  i have also for 30 yrs.  one reason i don't detox.  i could not take any fibers as it only made it worse, even with taking stimulants.  glucammanon, if i take in low doses it easier for me.  but i can't stress enough, how the detoxing has helped me.  it wasn't until i started taking the essiac tea, mms and the dreaded enemas that i saw a difference in my overall health, stomach problems and herxes.  it was hard for the enemas, and i hate the inconvenience, but i DO feel better afterwards.  just my situation.

i can't handle heat either so doing the heat things was out for me.  i sweat every 30 min with weird episodes i get, so i figure that is enough.  sounds like if you dance you are sweating.

anyway, think about some more and different detox methods.  give yourself a few more days to get rid of the herx, then try again with much fewer min.  i had to do that when i first started lyme coiling.

Thank you for all the info. I like the document. Nice and easy. I went on the website for the bulbs. The shipping was more than the item cost so I will try to find something locally. I like the instant coffee idea. This seems simple enough.

I think before I rife again I am going to try the enema. I really like to do one thing at a time to see how I react. That way if something bothers me I can pin down what it is. Once I know the effects of something I can do that plus something else. I am very sensitive to things and one ever knows how their body will react.

Thanks again.

Hi ,

I guess you just have to decide how much herxing you can tolerate and how large a toxin load you're willing to carry. Experience and pain will teach you what your personal limits are.

Heat intolerance , enema aversions, (BTW CEs are not about regularity; they are about stimulating the liver through the entero-hepatic vein to help the liver dump toxins, so believe me, Fiber One has NOTHING to do with detoxing except in just promoting basic b.m.s) Any other things that you have done that you don't feel you can do are problematic, because you really have to detox. In my second year I learned the hard way that detoxing is essential. And not by occasional, half-measures.

I was traumatized by enemas as a child (pin worms) so only after a truly hellish GB attack was I willing to do one or two. They were awful and I knew I'd never be able to comply on a regular basis. NO WAY! Then someone told me about low-volume ones and now despite my aversion to regular enemas, I do a low volume one almost every day. The days I miss, I really notice a big difference. Here's something to check out.

My two main killling protocols are S & C (15g) and Rife. When I'm herxing, I stay on the S & C but stop Rife or just run my ABPA A2 for balancing without killing. The liver and GB can only handle just so much congestion before becoming problematic and even damaged. But I'm only speaking for myself. Each person has to judge for themselves in these groups. I'm not a doc, just an thriving Lymie lab-rat.

Okay lets discuss detoxFirst We need to do detox every day. Some methods may require once or twice a day ,or depending on your body, more or less. There are so many different forms of detoxBrain issues, this is when you get all fuzzy headed and feel foggy so we call it brain fog.Usually it will take something to release the neurotoxins from the brain( most often ammonia). Some use Nutramedix burbur or pinella,There is also a detox product from Natures trust that is useful. Some use red root which detoxes lymph. It helps detox the whole body also. Then a half hour or 45 minutes

later so later we take a binder type detox agentThis varies per person .It can be charcoal(messy).clay, pectin, glucomannan, chitosan , etc anything that will absorb the toxins once it reaches the intestinal tract..This is a really important part of the detox process Some people use Source Naturals K mag KG which detoxes and neutralizes ammonia. I use a combination of eachA mention of clays , there are many out there Diatomaceous Earth is one( which also helps ride the body of intestinal bad bugs worms etc). there is red clays and green french clay there is azomite ( which is also filled with trace minerals). It basically comes down to , which ever works for you.Usually

just mix a teaspoon in water and chug it down, it can be mixed into juice or food or anything else for kids.It is gritty ,so you might need to "hide" it) When taking binders, we must take them away from other supplements because they are naturally absorbant and their purpose is to absorb anything bad in the intestines so it doesnt get reabsorbed into the bloodstream. Some will take clay first thing in the morning or last at night as well.Experiment with what works best for you.Every body has to be treated individually, What works for one person may not work for youMost important mineral is magnesium. You can get magnesium through bathing in epsom salts(easy for children) or using transdermal magnesium oil spray ( important to follow the directions ,not starting with full strength but building up to it gradually). You can also take oral

magnesium but magnesium is not well absorbed through the digestive tract.I find oral magnesium particularly useful for when I get constipated, or just to keep myself regular.Magnesium is important to just about every function in the human body and lyme unfortunately likes magnesium so it takes some of what we take away from us.That means that we need more than a healthy person.Magnesium also helps with pain.If your child needs it I suggest a product called Natural Calm. Its a powder that when added to water it gets fizzy and is often a fruit flavor.Made specifically so kids will like it.You can probably add other powdered supplements to it to hide them.Another good way to get kids to take supplements is smoothies using yogurt or kefirNext their are

coffee enemas. These are done low volume with specific instructions. The theory is that it hits a duct in the lower intestinal tract and detoxes the liver.Other detox for the liver includes glutathione, milk thistle and other cleansing herbs. I forgot to mention that I have fissures in my rectum. Is that going to make a difference with the enema? I just wonder if the "open" wounds would get infected with the coffee there. I have no idea. Who would one ask this question to?

Hi ,S & C is a fabulous protocol for killing Lyme! One of the cheapest and best. I couldn't have come so far without it!Go to:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategies/and once you join, go to link #.006 and you will find a good thumbnail of the protocol. There's also an excellent eBook b y Marc Fett that's offered and well worth the price. If one follows the protocol carefully and patiently, it will serve you very well. One starts at 1g or sometimes even less, and works up s-l-o-w-l-y. It creates a miserably hostile environment for all your Lyme & Co infections,(they cannot form cysts against it either) and also helps cardio-vascular, immune system, and rebuilding, etc.If I could only do one protocol, I think it would be this.(easy to say in hindsight)The ABPA A2 is a bio-photonic device that works on the basis of quantum mechanics with frequency generators (like my FSCan 2) to remotely deliver their frequencies (frx) to a patient without his/her having to be in the same room or hold electrodes, coils, etc. I can also put DNA samples of loved ones in it and send frx to them when needed. It can work over great distances, ( I first received my treatments from someone over 200 miles away and the initial herx absolutely convinced me that distance didn't matter!) Now, while I'm getting 24/7 frx (actually a sequence of about 3000 of them), I can go about normal life, knowing that viruses, parasites, fungi, aberrant cells, bacteria, etc. are being systematically killed in sequence. Switching from one list of 50 frx to the next is the only reminder that I'm Rifing, so it's easier to feel like a 'normal' person, living a normal life. When I stop herxing from them, I simply increase the repetitions and peel the next layer of the onion. Without a frx generator, the ABPA A2 can still benefit as it's designed to increase what is deficient and decrease what is too much in the body. It's used on very expensive race-horses, whose owners wouldn't bother with it if it weren't the real deal. The relentless assault on my pathogens by these two machines has really given me my life back. The combination of my FScan 2 and my ABPA A2 was expensive: things I wouldn't be able to afford now, but they have served me well indeed. That said, the inexpensive S & C (which I discovered after a year of Rifing), could probably do the job. MMS supposedly can also do the job, but as it's an oxidant and C is an anti-oxidant, I found it difficult to keep these two treatments separated a 24 hour day so they wouldn't cancel each other out. (I also had trouble with complying with the taste and smell of MMS and my system just didn't muscle-test well for it) I keep some stock-piled though, just in case my machines die, some horrible new virus attacks us, or the FDA makes C hard to get, or, or, or.Be well,Léna hi lena, what is S & C killing protocol 15 grams? and what is ABPA A2? i am trying to learn about treatments. thx, karen Lena, I agree that I do not have a good detox program. the colonic being able to rince up to the ascendant colon the aenma not going that far and the colema being between and that one can do at home at no cost except to buy it first ,

out there Diatomaceous Earth is one( which also helps ride the body of intestinal bad bugs worms etc). there is red clays and green french clay there is azomite ( which is also filled with trace minerals). It basically comes down to , which ever works for you.Usually just mix a teaspoon in water and chug it down, it can be mixed into juice or food or anything else for kids.It is gritty ,so you might need to "hide" it) When taking binders, we must take them away from other supplements because they are naturally absorbant and their purpose is to absorb anything bad in the intestines so it doesnt get reabsorbed into the bloodstream. You can also take oral magnesium but magnesium is not well absorbed through the

digestive tract.I find oral magnesium particularly useful for when I get constipated, or just to keep myself regular.Magnesium is important to just about every function in the human body and lyme unfortunately likes magnesium so it takes some of what we take away from us.That means that we need more than a healthy person.Magnesium also helps with pain.If your child needs it I suggest a product called Natural Calm. Its a powder that when added to water it gets fizzy and is often a fruit flavor.Made specifically so kids will like it.You can probably add other powdered supplements to it to hide them.Another good way to get kids to take supplements is smoothies using yogurt or kefirNext their are coffee enemas. These are done low volume with specific instructions. The theory is that it hits a duct in the lower intestinal tract and detoxes the liver.Other detox for the liver includes glutathione, milk thistle and other cleansing herbs.
