Guest guest
jodie, did you get the picture of the old man going out to his garden to plant tomatoes but he felt he was too old to dig up the garden this spring. so he writes his son, who is in prison, complaining that if the son were there he would help him. the son, being in prison, felt badly that he could not help his dad. so, he writes a letter to his dad, knowing that it would be read by the prison. he tells his dad not to dig up the garden because that is where the bodies are buried. he knows that the fbi will come and dig up the garden looking for the bodies--the guy must of been in prison for murder and they never found the bodies. they did come and dig up the garden looking for the bodies as the son believed they would, but find nothing. that is how he helped his dad dig up his garden this spring, when not being able to help him personally. in this case crime paid (sorta of, or maybe didn't interfere with productive gardening), by getting his garden dug up for free. maybe it wasn't a good joke. my husband said i have a 'different' sense of humor. oh, well. i tried.here is the picture and text again in case it did not show up on the original post. it showed on mine, but who knows, i might have messed it up and it didn't send. so, if my comments didn't make sense, just ignore them and enjoy the original pic and text. probably better that way.barbara On Tue, Apr 17, 2012 at 8:15 PM, Jodie wrote: Hmmmm...maybe I'm slow ...cause I don't get it!Says: How lymies can get their garden planted. Then below: Who says crime doesn't pay? Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I loved the joke and sent it to an old Italian friend of mine who will love it, too. Guest guest
khaya, when i did the copy/paste thing, i was given an option to copy image or copy. i chose copy. wonder if i was suppose to choose copy image.i'm going to go back into that email i copied it from and choose copy image and see if you get it here. did you get it? i can see it plainly above where i'm typing. but i could the other times also. if this doesn't work i will ck with my daughter to see what i have to do to ensure pic copy and post. she is one of those computer, twitter, facebk gurus. let me know if pic came through. or just text. neither, or what?babara I thought it was wonderful, too! But when I showed that to my husband, he said he's seen it before, as if it wasn't worth seeing again. I didn't get the picture, either. Maybe they can only be sent as an email to the group email address. Guest guest
khaya, that is because they only work out of one side of the brain at a time--really, scientific fact. that sounds sexist, but it is true. god created them to be able to focus on a single task so they can provide for their family. sort of 'single minded'. that is why when they watch tv, they only watch tv. when i want to mention something to my husband while he is watching tv (or any other focus such as x-box) he has to turn off the sound to speak to me. i can watch tv, type this, and talk to him at the same time.. women have to be able to cook the meal, answer the phone, hold the baby and know what the 2 yr. old in the next room is doing. that is because we work out of both sides of the brain at the same time. but that is by design. neither one is a a negative trait. we were each given what we need to do the job we were designed to do. men can go to work and focus solely on the task at hand, while women, in the traditional role, need to be able to multitask because of the varied responsibilities required in homemaking and raising kids. it is harder for women to focus at work, they are thinking of home, kids, dinner, etc.. women must also deal with the emotional issues of the entire family, which is always fluctuating and demanding where men do not deal with those emotional issues as well. men look at the big picture while women see more details. of course, there are always exceptions, but basically that is how it goes. again, neither way is negative, but each given the ability to do what they need to do in life. but these issues do lend themselves to many jokes. barbara I think life is often more difficult for men--they seem to be so confused sometimes! Of course, I'm always confused ... But it doesn't bother me too much. : ) > > > > > > khaya, > > > > > > my husband didn't get too excited about it either. and he said i didn't > > > have a good sense of humor. i think it is just different. > > > > > > barbara > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Thanks for explaining all that to me, Barbara! You’re right—it often is quite comical! : ) Actually, I probably was not given children because I could never have concentrated on that many things at once. Sometimes I cannot even talk on the phone and prepare food at the same time. : ( Khaya khaya, that is because they only work out of one side of the brain at a time--really, scientific fact. that sounds sexist, but it is true. god created them to be able to focus on a single task so they can provide for their family. sort of 'single minded'. that is why when they watch tv, they only watch tv. when i want to mention something to my husband while he is watching tv (or any other focus such as x-box) he has to turn off the sound to speak to me. i can watch tv, type this, and talk to him at the same time.. women have to be able to cook the meal, answer the phone, hold the baby and know what the 2 yr. old in the next room is doing. that is because we work out of both sides of the brain at the same time. but that is by design. neither one is a a negative trait. we were each given what we need to do the job we were designed to do. men can go to work and focus solely on the task at hand, while women, in the traditional role, need to be able to multitask because of the varied responsibilities required in homemaking and raising kids. it is harder for women to focus at work, they are thinking of home, kids, dinner, etc.. women must also deal with the emotional issues of the entire family, which is always fluctuating and demanding where men do not deal with those emotional issues as well. men look at the big picture while women see more details. of course, there are always exceptions, but basically that is how it goes. again, neither way is negative, but each given the ability to do what they need to do in life. but these issues do lend themselves to many jokes. barbara I think life is often more difficult for men--they seem to be so confused sometimes!
