Guest guest
I had my testing done at Quest/Focus labs. Out of pocket. Cost over $400! My doc said my elevated EB and HHV6 titres fit Montoya's standard. Is there anyone who's been on Valcyte? How are you doing? What might I expect if I try it? e.g., time line? side effects? lab tests to monitor side effects? Also, anyone using the Roche Patient assistance program? What income standards do they use? Thanks! michael
Guest guest
Wow, I didn't realize you used Quest. Do you or others know if Lab Corp's test would be accurate. That is where my doc ordered the virus tests because that is the only lab which now takes Blue Cross. a Carnes > > I had my testing done at Quest/Focus labs. Out of pocket. Guest guest
I'm not sure about LabCorp's accuracy, but I suspect that you can get the test run by Focus and have insurance cover it. Focus says you can go to any Quest or LabCorp for your blood draw. The test will be billed by the lab that did the draw, not Focus. It might be worth considering if your results come back equivocal. The tricky part is getting Quest/LabCorp not to mess it up. If you go this route, call the lab first to make sure they have it in their system as a " send out " to Focus. If necessary have a manager to sort it out and then have them explain it to the people at the draw station. Unless it's correctly set up in the system already, you won't get anywhere talking to customer service. On May 15, 2007, at 6:53 PM, pjeanneus wrote: > > Wow, I didn't realize you used Quest. Guest guest
a, , My RN daughter will accept Lab Corp's Results over Quest's as more precise on most tests. What i think lab corp's accuracy is thought to be the best according to the HHV6 foundation > might I expect if I try it? e.g., time line? side effects? lab tests > to monitor side effects? > > > > Also, anyone using the Roche Patient assistance program? Guest guest
I'm on week 4 of VALTREX since my EBV titre was high. I also am still taking Zithromax at 500 mg a day based on the fact that it is the only antibiotic that seems to always work for me longterm, and it is safe. So far, my headache is down from about an 8 to a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 the worst. a > > > > > > Wow, I didn't realize you used Quest. Guest guest
Does anyone know if Dr. G uses this drug (valganciclovir ) for patients who have elevated HHV6 titers and EBV? My HHV6 numbers were steadily coming down since starting antiviral treatment in November and now they're back up again. Interestingly enough, I knew before the labs came back. The fatigue, headaches, body aches, etc., started coming back. Just curious if anyone had undergone treatment with this antiviral.
