Guest guest
Hi Susie, I have osteoporosis, and I also have a hip replacement. I have not had advice directly related to osteoporosis. But my orthopedist told me that the only safe way for me to jump without causing my hip to deteriorate is on the rebounder. And I would think gentle bouncing on the rebounder would count as weight-bearing exercise to strengthen our bones. Khaya > > Hi everybody, > > Does anyone know if gentle rebounding is harmful if you have spinal osteoporosis? I'm trying to get some lymph movement, but obviously don't want to cause any more problems in my spine than I already have. I did some research on it, but as usual, there are differences of opinion on what is helpful and hurtful. Anybody with osteoporosis have any experience using a rebounder? Thanks. > > Susie >
Guest guest
I agree with everything for strong bones that you say. I would add one thing strauntium I don't know correct spelling. It is not the strauntium 90 that is radio active. Areas that have high amounts of strauntium have no tooth decay! My lyme Dr told me about it. > > HI Suzie , > I had a problem with my bone 3 month ago and here was with my canes again what a delight !!! he reis what i did virgouroulsy I did all at once eevrything I had read and it worked two weeks later nomore cane , 3 weeks later no more feeling . > What I do for osteaoprosis : > Vit K7 ( the japnonese way to treat it ) > Vit d +calcium magnesium minerals life extension has a very good mixing for this I think it is called bone restaur with boron k7 etc iether you buy from them if moneyis not an issue if nto you look at the composition and >                               buy it somewhere else just it makes more pill to swallow ( our way ) > progesteronne cream 2 weeks per month if you are over 50 years old ( life extension ) it increase the first month 5% the bone densitiy then 2% more per month according to the studies > mignature srlimps in a chinese super market ( chinese way ) > and a alcalinisor mienral drops to pu tin th ewater and all the swing to alcalanise as to stop the leaking of calcium for neutralising an acid blood. > Kindly Marie > > > ________________________________ > > To: Lyme_and_Rife > Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 6:42 PM > Subject: OT: Rebounding & osteoporosis > > >  > Hi everybody, > > Does anyone know if gentle rebounding is harmful if you have spinal osteoporosis? Guest guest
I take Strontium, along with Vitamin's K & D, calcium and magnesium. My doctor is not in favor of the supposedly bone strengthening prescription drugs like Fosomax--he says the build weak bones. Besides being a weight-bearing activity, rebounding is also very good for the lymphatic system. And you can use hand weights while you're bouncing on it. Guest guest
Hi Susie, I don't know the answer to your question, but I have read that Magnetic Pulsers can help with bone repair and bone density. Just a thought. I think I read about a magnetic pulsing pad that you lay on in the book called Detox or Die by Dr. Sherry Rodgers MD. Sorry I don't remember the name of the pad, but I did look it up once and they were pretty expensive. I bought the Sota Magnetic pulser which is a small handheld unit, much cheaper and hold it on my lower back that has hurt since I was in my thirties and it has really helped my pain in that area. > > Hi everybody, > > Does anyone know if gentle rebounding is harmful if you have spinal osteoporosis? Guest guest
Khaya, Very good. I don't jump hard enough for my feet to even leave the surface, but I was still concerned. I also have one knee that hurts going down the stairs & I worry that bouncing will damage it too. But I'm going to continue just gentle bouncing, not even jumping. It's better than nothing. Thanks for your comments. Susie > > > > Hi everybody, > > > > Does anyone know if gentle rebounding is harmful if you have spinal osteoporosis? Guest guest
Khaya, I take MK-7, vit d, mag and some calcium. I have to be very careful when I am on the rebounder. If I look down, I get dizzy & could lose my balance very easy. That's also why I just bounce gently & not really jump. Do you think that bouncing will cause breasts to sag? I don't want them to sag any faster than they already have!! But I don't want to have to change into a sports bra just for 1 minute & then change back. Do you have a special bra for rebounding? Guest guest
, I have alot of back pain, moreso in the past few months. Is the Sota magnetic pulser like a TENS machine? I've used those before & they actually irritated my nerves & couldn't use them. I have that book by Sherry Rodgers. I will look up about the pad. Thanks. Guest guest
Yes Susie, It's very important to support your breasts with a good sports bra or a running bra when you're bouncing. Do you know you can get a rebounder with a little hand-rail to hold on to if you have a balance problem when you're bouncing? I saw one at Dick's Sporting Goods when I bought the one I have--I don't think it was a lot more expensive. But you will get stronger and your balance will hopefully improve. I usually bounce for 15 minutes, and stretch my calves before and after. Before I had trouble with my legs I bounced for 20 minutes and used hand weights. I'm probably strong enough to start that again, but it's easier to fit 15 minutes into my day. And I do often put on the bra just before and take it off after, although sometimes I keep it on for the rest of the day. A sports bra has more support than a " pretty " one, and I need all the help I can get, now that I'm officially an " old lady " . Most people don't realize how old I am, but I can see the changes, although perhaps I've aged a little slower than many, even with LD. I usually watch TV while I'm bouncing, but I do glance down occasionally, to make sure I'm not too close to the edge. Very rarely I have a slight balance problem, but I recover quickly, so I don't worry about it . Having something to focus on probably helps. Like when you're doing a series of twirls or doing a balance pose--you have to focus on something that doesn't move. I usually have to place one hand on the wall if I'm doing a balance pose--so I do have a balance problem. Guest guest
Khaya, A long time ago I had a rebounder with a hand-rail but returned it because we had no room to keep it out all the time & I didn't want to keep it in the cellar. After that my husband bought a cheap rebounder & we put it in the cellar because it wasn't a good one. So that's where I'm at. I will have to try to go & buy a sports bra. I don't know when I'll get to do that. I hardly go out at all anymore I feel so lousy. Thanks for the tips. Guest guest
You're welcome Susie, I hardly ever shop any more, either, even though I do go out more often than I did for a long time. I have started buying a lot of stuff on line. But my sister dragged me to a fancy " lingerie " store and I bought 4 expensive bras--2 pretty ones and 2 sports bras. I was wearing the same ones I bought 21 years ago, before I got married. And for some reason they were a little too tight ... If not for my sister, I'd still be going without a bra rather than be uncomfortable. But I had bought some pull-on running bras when I went out for shoes--running shoes are the most supportive for me. We just do what we can, and some days that's not very much. Guest guest
Alan, I don't go to pools so I'll just stick to home rebounding when I can. Thanks for the suggestion. Guest guest
Debby, The reason I originally inquired about rebounding & osteoporosis was because I was leery about jumping & maybe cracking a bone in my spine. I've heard stories about somebody that sneezed & broke a back bone or two. I don't want to cause any more problems than I already have. It sounds like a doctor(?) recommended the jumping without a rebounder so I can rest assured that the little bit of bouncing that I do on a rebounder (only a minute & then the next day or two my leg muscles are so tired I can barely climb stairs) will not harm me. Thanks for sharing. Susie > > > > > > > > > > Hi everybody, > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone know if gentle rebounding is harmful if you have spinal > > osteoporosis? Guest guest
Hi Susie, If your osteoporosis is severe enough, you can break a bone from sneezing! Bouncing on a rebounder is one of the safest ways to bounce. If you do water exercises, your bones will not get as much benefit because the water absorbs your weight. Water exercises are very easy on your joints, so they're a good way to build yourself up. But if you use magnesium oil on your legs, your muscles will get stronger. Do you have osteoporosis or osteopenia? Doctors like to scare you so you'll agree to take Fosomax or a similar poison. Guest guest
Do you have a direct connection between osteroporosis, degenerative joint disease and lyme disease. Just had complete bone scan and found degererative joint disease in most of my joints, backbone, toes, It showed up on a complete body radioactive bone scan. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everybody, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone know if gentle rebounding is harmful if you have spinal > > > > osteoporosis? Guest guest
Khaya, I have osteoporosis of the lumbar spine & osteopenia of the hip. I have been putting mag oil on my thighs every night so maybe that will help also. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
