Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure if you've ever seen this but it's an ACR site where you can find contact information for practicing rheumatologists. For searching, you can input by geographic area or by name. You might find it helpful. http://www.rheumatology.org/directory/geo.asp Aloha, Georgina ----- Original Message ----- From: KAmitchemalways@... I'm not sure who, but I believe that there is someone in this group who takes their child to a doctor in Pensacola, Fl. We are considering moving there and I need to find a ped. rheum. for . As of right now, we take her to Shands in Gainsville (41/2 hours away from our home town), but if we could get a doctor that we agree with on the treatments, then it might be worth the while to check into. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
Guest guest
We are getting signed up for a Occupational therapist for my 3 year old. While talking to her on the phone she suggested I see a DAN doctor in Temecula. His name is Dr Woeller. Has anyone here seen this doctor? what are your thoughts? thanks so much! Guest guest
Hi Debi It is highly unlikely that anyone on this site will recommend a DAN doctor since mostly everyone here follows or supports Dr Goldberg's protocol and in consequence and not surprisingly advice will not necessarily be unbiased. I would suggest that you read up on the doctor recommended by your OT then research the DAN approach (which is a biomedical one) and when you gain sufficient insight into what a DAN doctor does try to have an informal phone chat with Dr Woeller asking predetermined relevant questions, one such example might be his success rate etc plus try to talk to existing parents clients to get their views. You should also research Dr Goldberg's protocol following the same basic approach and form your own views and then make the best decision you can for you and your child from informed and expanded opinion. If you have just begun this journey then you may initially find the plethora of advice confusing but do your research and recognise that instinct carries a lot of weight too. Accept that not everything or everyone recommended will work for you so use your knowledge to choose wisely and accept you will make mistakes along the way but in the final analysis you will be the best judge of what is right for your own child.
