Guest guest
I developed gastritis when I was on Effexor (which was doing pretty well for me aside from that), an SNRI. Once my stomach was better, I tried it again and still had problems. I am NOT saying the effexor caused it - it was only one of several things that I was on, and I am aware of food triggers as well (mainly red colored foods like bellpeppers, tomatoes, paprika, especially any red dye, red dye coating on a pill, etc). I do the benedryl test on some tummy pain - dye-free liquid benedryl - only 1/4 a tsp is necessary - and allow 15-20 minutes to see if there is a major reduction in pain. Don't wash the benedryl down w/water for a couple of minutes. Only might work if the pain is in the upper part of the abdomen. ________________________________ From: Marcia Hinds <hindssite@...> caligrl2u@...; Sent: Wednesday, March 4, 2009 4:19:20 PM Subject: call Dr. G's office Dear Anecke, You need to keep calling Dr. G's office until he understands just how much trouble your son is having. If he doesn't answer or get it, keep calling and explaining it. No one knows your kid better than you do. Trust your gut. If you know he is in misery, he is and you need to get him help. was sick for a long time but I did see improvement. Let me know what happens. Best, Marcia >Dear Marcia, We have been with Dr.G for about 1 year now. My 9 year old son is on valtrex and allegra.Last sept he was on paxil and had a HORRIBL time with his gut-he says like a knife turning around and around- he could not eat, sleep for 1 month enough trial time.Dr.G has prescribed celexia this time w/the same result! Marcia, did your son have the same issues??? Dr.G said that it will go away but it hasn't, and my son is in just misery! please e-mail me back because I'm not sure what to do now.
