Guest guest
, thank you so much for sharing your experience with Dr. Kaplan. I have a friend here in St. Louis who had a consultation with him about her progressing PBC and he has her on an experimental drug program that seems to be helping. Nothing else was. She is very impressed with him and has heard him speak at conferences. I find his feedback very interesting because as I mentioned in the previous post, my doctor has me on a rapid reduction schedule as well and is trying to get me off of prednisone altogether. I am on 50mgs of azathioprine (Imuran). He also said that increased cancer risk due to Imuran is only statistically significant in transplant dosages. I think your wife would be wise to start it and get off the prednisone if she can. I will feel fortunate and grateful if I can. Guest guest
Can you find out what the experimental drug for PBC is? Is it Urso and methotroxate (sp?). I heard him speak at a PBC convention in Jan. and that seemed to his drugs of choice for PBC. Thanks CREE8V1@... wrote: > From: CREE8V1@... > > , thank you so much for sharing your experience with Dr. Kaplan. Guest guest
Yes I think it was methotrexate. If this is a chemotherapy drug, than that is it.
Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone has taken their kids to see Dr. Kaplan OD.? I'm read his book " Seeing through new eyes " . My little girl's eyes turn out and she has many sensory problems that I think may be related to her vision. Does anyone know if a doctor in the L.A. area that treats kids with Ambient lenses? Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Guest guest
There are several doctors that use the prism lenses in LA. I know we have one here in Santa Clarita that does vision therapy. Dr. Garbus and we've seen him for our son's eye exams. He doesn't need vision therapy so I can't say anything about the actual therapy but I do know there are several in LA that do it. I found a bunch online a year or so ago. If you google " vision therapy los angeles " you'll find a bunch.
