I attended the Seminar at UCLA on Dec 1st. The chief of staff of their lung transplant department said they the age limit for transplants has been raised to 72. In fact there was a speaker there who was transplanted at age 71 and was doing well.jaime wrote: Lana Hall was in ger early 20's when diagnosed with IPF and only had 22 % lung capacity at the time of her diagnosis. she has since had a double transplant and is back in college now. GEAUX Lana.also another PF friend of mine, tammy

barnes from dallas texas had her double transplant on mother's day of this year at age 33 and is fully recovered as one can be from it. she worked until the day she was called to come to the hospital. she was able to take her O2 to work with her. Wow, that is good news. I live in Northern California and am 57 years old so was thinking my chance at getting a transplant was running out fast, but if I can still have one at 72, I may still make it. Thanks for sharing that. Carolyn Morin wrote: I attended the Seminar at UCLA on Dec 1st. Louise: I live in Vacaville, close to halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco. Our most famous landmarks are the Medical Correctional Facility and the Factory Stores. LOL Small world hey?
