Guest guest
Thank you Khaya...this really gives me some direction; So appreciated! To: Lyme_and_Rife Sent: Sunday, April 1, 2012 8:28 PMSubject: Re: How to gain weight and what to eat to do so with many food allergies Hi ,If I were you, I would eat whatever seems to agree with me best, especially what tastes the best! It's easier to eat more of what you really like. Concentrate especially on very nutritious foods, like quinoa, vegetables, hi-fat fish like salmon (especially wild salmon) and healthy oils like olive and coconut. Potatoes are good for packing weight on, but if you have a tendency to candida they are best avoided. Organic meats, poultry and eggs will give you high-quality protein, which you probably need. If you do any juice, do not strain the pulp out, and use high-sugar vegetables in moderation (like carrots). With your adrenal glands stressed out, you don't want to put yourself into a hypoglycemic state. Are you allergic to all nuts and seeds, or only some of them? Raw organic nuts and seeds are highly nutritious. Soaking them overnight makes them easier to digest and increases the protein. I soak them with a little un-refined sea salt and some food-grade hydrogen peroxide 12-14 hours, drain them, then dehydrate them in a very slow oven (no higher than 175-200 degrees) for 2 hours (or longer if you are doing a large batch, which will need to be stirred occasionally). If you don't dehydrate them, they will spoil unless you eat them immediately, and they taste better after being dehydrated. If you are allergic to them, sprouting will not neutralize the allergens. I was eating sprouted bread, but found out that does not work! Eat enough to energize and strengthen you. You will feel and look better, even if you do not achieve your goal weight. (In my humble opinion, of course.)Khaya >> Hi All:> > I would like any advice you have on how to gain weight while being allergic to many things. I'm allergic to gluten, dairy (cow and goat), soy, nuts, and some of the ancient grains through ART testing; although I just had a colonoscopy that indicated celiac sprue and severe food allergies in confirmation. But apparently I can eat rice, quinoa, veg, meat, potatoes. I also do not have functioning adrenal glands just as an aside. > > I did a stint of juicing which of course made me lose more weight and screwed up my GI terrain and bacteria which precipitated a couple of wowza infections; the last which landed me in the hospital for a few days last week...so more weight loss.> > I am going to look into an NAET practitioner which I know has found to be of great help in treating clearing allergies. Guest guest
You're welcome . It did occur to me though--if you take a lot of mineral supplements, the HCl could help you digest those. Guest guest
Right Khaya. I'm taking fulvic mineral liquid supp. So I'm not sure. It would make sense to me too that you wouldn't need HCL with just veg or mostly, But I believe I don't make acid, so I may. I am scheduling a pH capsule test to see. Should be interesting. Thanks again for your thoughtful tips. To: Lyme_and_Rife Sent: Monday, April 2, 2012 10:50 AMSubject: Re: How to gain weight and what to eat to do so with many food allergies You're welcome . Guest guest
Oh good--if you're having the test, you can ask for advice from the professionals! By the way, I was down to 92# at one point, and I now am a little overweight--even with lots of food allergies. Maybe i eat too much rice! I have to learn how to bake quinoa bread, but I don't have time. Khaya > > > > > > Hi All: > > > > > > I would like any advice you have on how to gain weight while being allergic to many things. Guest guest
It will be great to get the pH capsule thing done but it is by no means a replacement for the advice of someone who's been there. Thanks for all of your input and encouragement Khaya. Do you attribute the needed weight gain to staying away from the foods you're alleric too or from treating Lyme otherwise or probably from both, right?! Thanks again Khaya. Guest guest
Hi , I'm sure the LD treatment helped me, but I was also forced to change my eating habits. At that time I was a vegetarian and was eating a lot of vegetables, sprouted lentils and seeds, a lot of brown rice, eggs, goat cheese and yogurt. Blood tests showed I was not getting enough protein, and that I was both lactose intolerant and allergic to milk protein, or casein, even in goat yogurt. I also had been eating sprouted bread, but learned that sprouting does not neutralize the gluten. So I cut those things out, and started eating a lot of salmon, initially. Then Dr.B was worried about mercury in salmon, so I now eat a lot of organic turkey. I've even added organic chicken livers because I haven't been able to keep my iron levels up. (My old skill at making chopped liver has come in handy, and it's very popular at pot-lucks.) So my diet is not as pure as I'd like, but I'm feeling better. The yellow skin disappeared shortly after I began treatment, and the weight came back as well, but it took longer for my energy to increase. Daily methyl-B-12 shots are my latest addiction.
