Guest guest
Thank you for all the information. My cousin, my uncle and my father's cousin all use HBOT therapy for a different set of ailments and find it extremely effective. I tried it this summer and had some nerve pain dissipate for a few days. A bit like stepping in a coffin but an interesting experience nonetheless. Why not HBOT? > > > > Date: Sunday, May 17, 2009, 11:05 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I wanted to know why does Dr. Goldberg NOT recommend HBOT. I saw a presentation of his in which he mentioned that it can harm kids, but he did not elaborate why. Guest guest
Cherie, Did you notice any improvements in your sons after the 21 rounds? And, did you have a spect scan before the treatments that showed their brains were worse after the treatments? Just curious. Thanks. dawn ________________________________ From: Martín W <engranajes@...> Sent: Tuesday, May 19, 2009 6:13:05 PM Subject: Re: Why not HBOT? Did Dr G tell you why these " white hot " formed? Guest guest
Not quite. SSRIs can help regulate blood flow, not oxygen or where it goes. Oxygen is supplied by the blood stream and HBOT puts more oxygen into the blood. SSRIs help blood flow, not how much oxygen is in the blood. Guest guest
Oxygen goes through the plasma into the tissues, however at 1.5 the depth is effective to normalize the blood flow. in parts of the brain where the it is hyper perfused, and others where it is hypo perfused, it will normalize the blood flow. For the gut issues a different depth will allow the PH to normalize and also deliver the medicine needed for the gut issues. Yeast is treated at a different depth. My daughters were treated in 1991 and have made afull recovery. I urge you to wisely consider the science and value of this treatment. However rarely are my posts allow to be posted. www.hbot4u.com Why not HBOT? > > > > > > Date: Sunday, May 17, 2009, 11:05 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I wanted to know why does Dr. Goldberg NOT recommend HBOT. Guest guest
That is my understanding too of what SSRI's do. Increase the blood flow to the brain - not oxygen. Dr. G said that the " hot " areas in my boys neurospect's were all the following: Years of supplements* HBOT* Virals While I agree with the virals - I find it *difficult to believe that 21 rounds of HBOT would contribute to that massive amount of damage or that supplements did as well...they were autistic loooong before we ever gave supp's or HBOT (they were 13 when we did the rounds) But who knows? Our massive battle now is the enemy testosterone . Thank you all for the excellent dialogue - it is so informative. Guest guest
Since blood is what carries oxygen in the body, it follows that increased blood flow means increase oxygen flow. No or low blood flow means no or little oxygen. I think Dr. Goldberg’s concern with HBOT is that it floods too much oxygen too fast to a part of the brain that can be damaged by too much oxygen too fast. I know my son had a chiropractic adjustment as a toddler that did just that – sent too much blood/oxygen too fast to his brain and it caused a grand mal seizure. Guest guest
Dawn, We did not see any improvement or regression after the 21 rounds*. Nope, did not have the spects before (I didnt even know about them until Goldberg) I Really wish I'd had the boys scanned before and after ... * Again, I am not super well versed on HBOT - but where we went in San Diego - the guy that runs it (and makes the chambers) said that in order to see imporovement you have to do anywhere from 80+ rounds. We just ran out of cash.. The reason I took the boys in the first place was that a friend of mine had a brilliant (but heavily partying) college son that OD'd at college. He was oxygen deprived for like 20 minutes (they really dont know how long) She was told by all the physicians that he would be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life. I saw him first hand when she brought him back from Arizona to california and went to visit him in the hospital. It was awful. This once vibrant kid was gone. Made no eye contact, non verbal, drooled, girgled, writhed and his hands and feet were begining to curl in. She took him to the HBOT facility in San Diego and he had MANY rounds of HBOT. I would not have believed it had I not seen him first hand... but after he'd had about 40 rounds of HBOT I went again to see him in the convel. hospital (about 2.5 months later) . He was sitting up playing poker with is buddy. His speech was slurred - but the vegetative kid I saw 2.5 months early was gone. He continues to improve - his short term memory is still very bad - but he's home, playing Wii, poker, walking and talking. Dont know if he'll ever be 100% but He's certainly 100% better than he was 2 years ago. I know Dr. G says a big NO on HBOT, but I saw a kid absolutle " wake Up " . Now my boys have different brain injuries - so what works for one may not work for all... I wont 100% rule it out - we are just following Dr. G's protocol right now. Hope that helps.. Guest guest
As far as I know chiropractic adjustements only reduce subluxations to make sure that nerves are not pinched allowing organs to work better. I didn't know about the increase in blood flow. We do chiropractic adjustments on my son every 2 weeks. Please correct me if I am wrong, I am interested in the chiropractic care subject. Guest guest
I don't know if it's related, but if I understand it correctly, there are some oxygen toxicity problems found in CFIDS too... Not always evident immediately. You could google it in relation to CFS but I don't know how valid the information is. Guest guest
But for our son, Raphael, his chiropractor has saved his life-literally! Roff began having siezures at 6 months. He had many many everyday. By the time he was 6 years old he was having huge grand mal siezures with loss of continence, loss of conciousness, and cessation of breathing. We went for a surgical eval at UCLA summer 2006 as we were afraid the siezures were going to kill him. He was not a candidate after video eegs showed generalization of siezures. One month later my mom found out about Dr. Dennis Harding, in Auburn CA who is an atlas orthogonal chiropractic specialist. We have been seeing him for three years. Roff no longer has grand mal siezures. He only has a small loss of right side siezure lasting a few seconds and can talk to us during and he only has those when his neck is out of alignment. His autistic behaviors also calm and improve after adjustments. You can find an atlas specialist near you at www.atlasdr.com. Best of healing to you all.
