Guest guest
I read all your post I see a couple children remind me of our Grandson. Hoping someone can help us trying to see what is going onwith this little boy so many ups & downs. We`ve been on almost 1 yr. This little boy(10 yrs)is non-verbal so we do a lot of observing cont. his behaviors, moods are so non consistant we think we have a good day 1 day then next day back to square one or sometimes 3 good days. So saying this it is so hard to no what is working (meds), diet ect. I`ll try not to make this long. Looking through notes he started Famvir 1/2 tab 250 mg. 3/day August 2009 the only (die off) we noticed was headache typical lying aroung not feeling gave tylenol as Dr. suggested. We never seen die- off through B.M`s He is still on Famvir dosage 1 tab A.M. 3/4 afternoon 1 tab eve. for 3 days he is now having orange B.M.`s very spacy, extremely hyper, not focused appetite good. Dr. G. has him take Mineral oil to help with constipation iron causing extreme problems with this. I always thought orange B.M`s was die- off if so why would it take 10 months? Has anyone seen this in their child? Dr`s office says this isn`t die off. Carole
Guest guest
Did he eat something orange or red that could be coloring the stools? Is it blood in the stools? Does he have a fever? It doesn't sound like die-off. Guest guest
Here are some reasons for orange stolls: Orange stool may normally appear after ingestion of:Beta carotene - vitamin A supplementsBeta carotene in foods (if ingested in large amounts): carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, spinach, turnip greens, winter squash, collard greens, cilantro, fresh thyme, apricots, mango, pumpkinAntacids containing aluminium hydroxideArtificial colors in drinks, sweets, ice creams, sauces, etc Medications in certain combinationsIs it possible a favorite food is causing this or a new food? Good luck, Robyn From: Kristy Nardini <knardini@...> Subject: RE: Question about famvir Date: Wednesday, June 10, 2009, 12:07 PM Did he eat something orange or red that could be coloring the stools?
