Guest guest
Hi guys! We just found out today that we are going to be having a girl in June! I am very excited as we will probably only have 2 kids so now I will have my boy and girl! Everything looks okay and things are going fine. AT this point however, I would like to start preparing my CHARGEr, BRandon who is 32 mos old for this baby to come and make him NOT 'the center of the universe' anymore, which he currently believes he is! He is only on an 11 mos old level physically and on about a 9 mos old level communication wise, so as you can see, the 'typical' approach of sitting him down and explaining this to him on a 2 1/2 year olds level is out of the question. He doesn't speak or sign, although auditory wise he recognizes and responds to words that we have used frequently. He loves books and if anyone knows of a Sesame Street book that talks about becoming an older brother/sister would be great. Unfortunately, if it's not Sesame Street, he won't pay attention. Otherwise, the only other idea I have is that we are going to make our re-arrangements to the furniture (ie pulling out the crib, swing, bouncy chair, etc) a few months before to give him time to adjust as any furniture changes freak him out. Otherwise??? The other problem is that he has JUST started experiencing separation anxiety and being very clingy in the last month. Previously he could have cared less if we left him w/his nurse or if someone else held him. Now he wants me and he wants me NOW!! He is very smart, but the problem is getting the message across to him and understanding him. ANY ideas at all would be helpful. I would like this to be as smooth as possible for everyone involved. He will continue his therapies and he will also start school at the school for the blind in Aug. and that will be good for him to have his own activities to look forward to and participate in. I hope that will help. Please let me know. Thanks!! You guys have been great!! Guest guest
Congratulations Ruth!!!! I am glad everything is working out, I know people that have tried and tried but only had girls or vice versa. Sorry I don't have any advice because I only have one child and I plan to keep it that way, if I can. But I hope everything goes okay and your baby is healthy. __________________________________________________
