Wow Deborah, sorry to hear that.

It's hard sometimes to convince people that there are alternatives.

I myself went kicking and screaming at first, until i got tired of

getting progressivly worse and my hubby telling me that i could get

better. Drop some info her way now and then, little things you read

here or anywhere else. I saw lots of little articles about thyroid

and other ailments in the little mags they give you at the HFS's and

that is what set me on the path of enlightenment.

And i'll tell you, it was not just Thyroid for me, i was like the

poster child for bad medicine and what it can do to a body. I had

horrible alergies, eczema, asthma/chronic bronchitis, Insulin

resitance, fatty liver disease (just started), Migraines (weekly)

and of course the thyroid. Once i did the total body cleanse, i

went off ALL conventional meds even asprin and ibuprofen. I use

only herbs, tinctures, teas and supplements now and i not only feel

better, i look better (healthier) I havent dropped all the weight

yet, but that's in part due to the fact that i still dont excersie

enough.

Keep working on yourself and be the example that your friend will

one day be jealous of and hopefully want to emulate :o)

Hi Gloria, I know where you are coming from. When I discovered the joy of kefir, I was so thrilled about it that I tried to give kefir grains to my family and friends, thinking that they would like it as much as I did. You could say that I "forced" kefir on them and they resisted :-( People have to be ready to accept new things, and it doesn't matter how much we (their friends) harp on about something that we think is great, if they are not at that stage where they are ready it will not work. All we can do is sew little seeds, give them little tasters when appropriate, and wait for them to come to us. It's the same thing with feeding dogs raw food, but I'm not going to get into that here...... and the K9'sI have made little suggestions and she has told me I am wrong and that I am going the wrong direction.I think all of us have gone through this with friends and it hasn't worked for me. Even when people get desperate and down to the wire, I find that although they may ask me "what herb is good for this", they have much more faith in traditional medicine. I've learned debating about the effectiveness of natural healing is about as pointless as debating politics these days. I give up! Gloria

THis is exactly why I don't debate anymore. I just inform them of what

will help them and then it is their choice to research and find the

truth. If they wish to follow the allopathic path or the natural path,

it is their choice. I don't usually, anymore, help anyone unless they

specifically come to me and ask for my help. Otherwise, I have found,

that I am intruding into their belief system and they resent it. But I

will help anyone who asks. Even if they are asking about my thoughts on

some allopathic therapy of medication but I will still point out a much

more natural solution to their dilemma. It is all about choice and

educating oneself.
