Problem is many parents cannot afford a visit to a Dan doctor when it is

not covered by insurance or in many cases by medicaid which do not cover

these types of services, much less lab testing to test. Any suggestions?

Some do take insurance and many of the labs do bill insurance

(although it's limited by your insurance and what companies the labs

take). Every one of my non traditional labs were covered by insurance

except food allergies. Over $3k worth of labs cost me about $254.

It's not impossible to do but there are limitations like where you

live, who you choose to see and your insurance policy, which I'm sure

you are fully aware.

There are ways to do it in a more cost effective manner and sometimes

you have to work around the lab issue and see how much of info you can

get through traditional labs. Sometimes it's not as detailed but

anything is better than nothing and with a good doc, you can work

together to figure things out. The problem is finding a good enough,

knowledgeable enough doc. And one that isn't out for your money. Way

too many of those out there.

I pay the same amount for my DAN as I did with Dr. G - $20 copay.
