I've had afib for 4 years now. I've decided the be very conservative about medications. So I take a calcium channel blocker and Plavix. I don't want to take anything more unless my quality of life changes for the worse. I used to afib about every 7 days for 2-14 hours. Since I have added magnesium to my diet I have extended by afib bouts to 9 days. The bouts are fairly quiet and my pulse usually doesn't go much over 100 and my bp goes to normal after about the first hour. My advice to you is to find out everything you can about afib and the drugs used for it and then make a decision on your course of action. You have come to a good place here to find that information.
