NO. NO. NO. TO TENEX. When I took my son to Dr. Goldberg he wanted to place

my son who was three on this medicine. My son never needed it, and we

checked through the pediatrician and beh. pediatrician and it was not

necessary. TENEX is not even approved by the FDA to be given to children, it

is

just commonly done by some psych's in the field. Read Below:

Tenex is used for:

Treating _high blood pressure_ (http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tenex.html#) . It

may be used alone or with other medicines. It may also be used for other

conditions as determined by your doctor.

Tenex is an alpha agonist. It works by relaxing (dilating) blood vessels

and decreasing heart rate, which lowers blood pressure.

Do NOT use Tenex if:

* you are allergic to any ingredient in Tenex

you.

Before using Tenex :

Some medical conditions may interact with Tenex . Tell your doctor or

pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the

following apply to you:

* if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are

_breast-feeding_ (http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tenex.html#)

* if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine,

herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

* if you _have allergies_ (http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tenex.html#) to

medicines, foods, or other substances

* if you have liver or kidney problems, or the blood disorder

porphyria

* if you have blood vessel disease affecting the brain or severe

_heart disease_ (http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tenex.html#) , or have had a stroke

or a recent heart attack

* if you are scheduled for surgery

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Tenex . Tell your _health care_

(http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tenex.html#) provider if you are taking any other

medicines, especially any of the following:

* Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital) or hydantoins (eg, phenytoin)

because they may increase the risk of Tenex 's side effects

* Beta-blockers (eg, _propranolol_

verapamil), or digitalis because a

severe decrease in heart rate may occur

* _Tricyclic antidepressants_ (http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tenex.html#)

(eg, amitriptyline) because they may decrease Tenex 's effectiveness and

increase the risk of certain side effects

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask

your health care provider if Tenex may interact with other medicines that you

take. Check with your health care provider

Do you think that as long that the kids get better they will suspend this

With respect from the posts I read I would not say that ''everyone is a

success story'' although some may disagree of course depending on their

interpretation of success but to me success means that my child functions

within

neurotypical boundaries including his physical health! The question you

are asking though regarding lack of success is certainly a fundamental

one.

Dr Goldberg's theory in my humble view accurately describes what

occurred with two of my boys and although I think his treatment approach

is an

innovative one it is still an evolving one and I would like to see more

concrete clinical data to support credibility.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. I took him to the Dr. thinking

he had a urinary tract infection because he has to pee so often but they

tested him and found nothing but I bet he has a low grade infection they

aren't catching. I doubt hormones, he is 8? How do you get a

prescription for Cefzil without a definitive reason? Dr. G? I have been

making him drink a lot of fluids and he seems to be improving a little.

I just had a thought. I should give him cranberry juice. Thanks, Jerri

What kind of medical problems your son has? Did you run the lab tests Dr.

Goldberg recommends? if so, what were the results? Has your son's pediatrician

seen the results? If so what does the pediatrician thinks about them?
