Guest guest
Smart Water can be found in your local grocery store. Kroger, HEB, Randalls etc. It is in the health food section of these stores and no it isn't flavored. I know this cause this is my favorite bottled water to drink. char _____________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 4 Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2005 18:28:57 EDT From: dadsgirl2183@... Guest guest
Interesting. Years ago when my son had seizures, his doctor ran a blood test that found he was extremely low in potassium and magnesium. He recommended adding a special electrolyte water to his drinks. That really improved my son's stamina and reduced the number of seizures. Later, when he'd have a cycle of seizures, we'd find they'd stop when he took magnesium. I imagine these things need to be balanced though so Dr. G's recommendation to limit it to a few times a week makes sense for a person that isn't showing major electrolyte imbalance through testing. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing Alaine! Guest guest
We live in the Antelope Valley and it's very hot during the summer. My son Noah drinks a lot of water and was depleting himself of electrolytes. We used Smart Water to replace them. Come to think of it, he was more " with it. " Interesting! BTW, Trader Joe's has electrolyte water as well and it's cheaper than Smart Water. You may want to check if ingredients are the same. All the best, Robyn > > Just thought I'd share this - we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach last week. Really hot & humid. Guest guest
Makes sense. We've given my son B6 with magnesium for years. Apparently that's another reason epsom salts with magnesium helps some kids. When we first started the B6 with mag., we noticed a difference right away. B vits (b6, b12, etc) have been know since the 1950s to help with ASD smptoms. Good article on that (mythlation + oxidative stress here): http://www.autismcalciumchannelopathy.com/Oxidative_Stress.html Best, On Sun, Aug 30, 2009 at 1:25 PM, alaine0617 <alaineandpaul@...>wrote: > > > Just thought I'd share this - we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach last > week. Guest guest
Robyn Thanks for the Trader Joes tip - I'll check them out (and should've thought of it myself!!) Guest guest
I wonder if the bicarbonate acts as a neutralizer for food allergies? Baking soda (bicarbonate) is often used in the Failsafe diet if someone has a reaction to salicylates or phenols. Or maybe there's a PH adjustment?
