khaya, this is very true.  had lots of family here this weekend and my son-in-law took the kids to the beach this beautiful sunny morning at 8 when the tide was at it lowest.  he said the tide was out farther than he had ever seen it.  so i guess that article is right on.

never knew anything about perigee, except the sci-fi  movies.  never understood it, just heard the word.  so wonderful education.  also understand why we have lower/higher tides at times.  very interesting.  now i can inform guests when they see lower and higher tides than normal.

Hi Khaya,

So that is why I feel so crappy!

That link is tooooo technical, our weather guy Time says, well he says it is

just bigger,

brighter and silvery! Now to me, it just looks brighter, maybe a tad bigger..

It sure don't look silvery. :-)

Seriously, the full moon is believed to have an affect on pathogens, making them

more restless and active.. I never thought much about this but Lena kept harpin'

about it month after month and she' right! So at least I know " my time of the

month " coincides with the full moon!! I am not always bothered by the full

moon, but some months I can directly relate my worst days about the time is

shows up at my place... :-)

Take care,

Jim

jim,it has been known forever by law enforcement that the full moon means a very busy night. also, the e.r. of a hospital.  that is where they get the word 'looney' (sp), as in people acting nuts around the full moon.  my husband always talks about the full moon and the 'nuttiness' of it.

but it must be the 'bugs' that are actually going 'nutty.'barbara

Hi Jim,

When the full moon and perigee come at the same time is the worst--and this was

the closest one in a year and a half. The new moon and perigee together is also

a powerful combination, but I think it's stronger with the full moon. I thought

all the technical stuff helped explain why. But I wish I'd see a respected

doctor come out with an article on the effect of the moon on LD ...

I don't think it's necessarily " bugs " , either. People who have chemical

imbalances (like bi-polar for instance) are also affected strongly by the full

moon.

Hi Khaya,

It seems to me that a LLMD did talk about Lyme and the moon a while back,

unfortunately

I didn't think to save the link and I just did a search and found nothing, but

this may be

a tough one to search for..

I did find this connection between parasites hatching eggs and the moon!!

http://www.thenutritionalhealingcenter.com/parasites/

And for sure, people on Lyme groups do tend to have a tougher time just before,

during and

just after a full moon...

I know I am personally having a bad week this week and I can't say if it is the

full moon or not, but there is one big bright moon out there for sure and it may

be having an effect on me..

I have really had a tough time sleeping this past week and last night was no

exception. I go to bed feeling kind of wired. I finally got up and coiled

Friday night and then started the Borrellia Homeopathics kit from Desseret on

Saturday. I try to do this in the spring, to message my immune system to

continue to fight any remaining lyme. I had quite a herx yesterday and had to

take a lot of binders in order to sleep. The problem with the Homeopathics is

that the herx does not let up like the coil herx does since the immune system

continues to work all of the time. Anyway, the combination of the Super Moon

and the Spring caused for a big flare up. I am rather lacks when it comes to

coiling. I used to coil on a weekly basis, but now I only coil when

symptomatic. I think the full moon always stirs the spirochetes so that they

are more active and of course they tend to hatch out in the spring. I sure am

tired of dreading the full moon, because it is so beautiful.

I used to make sure I had no commitments for several days before and after the

full moon so I could just stay home and take care of myself. But now that I'm

more involved in things, that's not practical for me. I'm doing a ten-day

course of tinadazole and my ankles and calves are even more swollen than usual.

i can't even get my wedding ring on, either. And dragging a bit, of course. :

( Rainy weather doesn't help, either!

Have you noticed on weather.com they now have an " Aches & Pains " forecast on a

scale of 1 to 10. Today is 6 (moderate). So considering that, I guess I'm OK.

Hi

Khaya,

Funny I

never paid attention to the full moon before reading this thread but this

weekend I had terrible aches & pains which are significantly better today.

Of course I was also rear ended the week before and my back is so fragile to

begin with I can’t be certain the moon was responsible, but I’m

beginning to believe it.

Take

care,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

The aches and pains from an auto accident are something else! Right after mine,

my parents took me on a trip (I was single at the time), and the whirlpool bath

near the swimming pool was wonderful! This is a good time to use your magnesium

oil or flakes or epsom salts, and get lots of rest. I remember lots of reading

in bed ... after work, of course. And then, after a couple of months, I

started doing yoga. The HMO I was in would not refer me for physical therapy,

but a girlfriend gave me the name of a massage therapist who came to my home.

Having a super-strong moon at the same time as the seasonal change is really a

double-whammy, all by itself. But this too shall pass ...

Hi

Khaya,

I also

had this happen about 10 years ago and it took almost a year for it to get

better. I was going for acupuncture 2x weekly for it then. I also have a

massage therapist that comes to the house. My back is so messed up that any

little thing can set me off on a downward spiral. My llmd is also using mesotherapy

injections in my back which have helped and my fir sauna has been very helpful

with the pain as well. A whirlpool sounds great but I don’t have access

to one. Maybe a hot tub would work also?

Thanks,

Jeff

And then, after a couple of months, I started

doing yoga. The HMO I was in would not refer me for physical therapy, but a

girlfriend gave me the name of a massage therapist who came to my home.

Having a super-strong moon at the same time as the seasonal change is really a

double-whammy, all by itself. But this too shall pass ...

Hi Jeff,

I think the words whirlpool-bath and hot tub are interchangeable. Be sure to sit with your back against one of the “jets”. What is mesotherapy?

It sounds like you have some excellent tools to work with. Do you know yoga breathing techniques? Increasing your oxygen intake and cleansing toxins from your lungs would help, also. Be sure to make the exhale longer than the inhale—to get the toxins out. The lungs will easily fill up with fresh air, but it takes work to empty them completely.

Hi Khaya,

I also had this happen about 10 years ago and it took almost a year for it to get better. I was going for acupuncture 2x weekly for it then. I also have a massage therapist that comes to the house. My back is so messed up that any little thing can set me off on a downward spiral. My llmd is also using mesotherapy injections in my back which have helped and my fir sauna has been very helpful with the pain as well. A whirlpool sounds great but I don’t have access to one. Maybe a hot tub would work also?

Thanks,

Jeff

Khaya,

Mesotherapy

is used primarily for cosmetic reasons or weight loss but my llmd uses it to

treat acute pain as well. It’s injections of homeopathic and vitamins

into targeted area. I’ve tried yoga but have problems with it because of

my back and arthritis in other areas but the breathing should be helpful as

well.

Hi Jeff,

Mesotherapy sounds very similar to Neurotherapy that my Homeopath does for pain.

Have you tried any energy medicine techniques such as EFT or NAET? I found out

that I was traumatized after a car accident and the EFT really helped the

emotional trauma surrounding the car wreck. Once I figured out that I had a lot

of stored trauma and treated it with allergy elimination on Hydrocarbons and

fuels as well as plastics and EFT surrounding the trauma, all of my pain went

away, never to return. So much of our pain can have an emotional basis and it

may be worth exploring. Many of our allergies are rooted in emotional trauma as

well.

Hi

,

I haven’t

tried either of those yet. I’m quite certain there’s plenty of

emotional issues involved. I’m quite angry and depressed over this right

now, as I was just starting to get over the current Lyme symptoms I’ve

had for many months recently and to have this accident now was really

frustrating. I know the anger is counterproductive  and am conscious of and

trying to control it as best I can.  I’ll look into it.

I don’t

know anything about either EFT or NAET so I’ll do some research.

Thanks,

Jeff S
