Guest guest
My friend recently did something similar to her foot. She wore an orthopedic boot to protect it for a few weeks and was able to get around at home at least while it healed. Without the boot she couldn't get around at all. It did take weeks for her to get better. What sort of infection do they think you have? If you have been running a temp from before you hurt your foot, do they know the cause? Your deep bruising of your foot will take time.....The best thing you can do it is o keep it elevated as much as possible and maybe use ice as a pain reliever. I also have multiple body parts and FMS that causes me constant pain......I ve been having doctor appointments every week all summer and I am no where near done yet. I have to take a ferry and travel to the mainland for tests and specialists so it takes all day for a 15 minute appointment which makes my body hurt worse for days. It all seems counter productive since everything they have found wrong with me so far as no treatment or cure... plus they don't even want to give you pain medicine. -- I am desperate for any help I can get... I have Fibro, Arthritis, and Osteoporosis in one hip. My latest reason for needing help is that a shelf fell and some dishes hit my feet, they didn't seem to bother me much at first except for some bruising. I finished doing some housework and then we had company for about 4 days which I know I overdid BUT...On a Tuesday ( August 9th) when everyone left, about 5 days after the dish dropping, I sat down to rest cause I hurt so bad, especially my feet, after a couple of hours my feet were really cramping, especially my right one, I could not put any weight at all on it and when I tried to get up, I couldn't! My left one hurt but I could stand on it. On the next Saturday my left foot was also cramping and would not hold my weight at all. My husband got me a porta pot to put next to my bed and we were using an office chair to try to wheel me around when I could get into it, I finally got a wheel chair but trying to get to and from it made me scream in pain. I did go and get X-rays, nothing is broken or cracked, just showed some " erosion " from the arthritis. I finally had to go to the hospital, was there for several days and was sent home with more pain pills, which I really need now, and instructions on exercise and an antibiotic. They said there might be some infection in my feet. My feet are still swollen most of the time and really hurt, I still can't walk at all, I can barely transfer to and from my bed. I have been standing, stretching, and massaging when I can , I have some cream that is supposed to ease the pain when rubbed on but it doesn't seem to help. Of course the rest of me hurts even worse because I have to move myself around without using my feet. I do keep running low grade fevers but I have done that for a long time. I am so discouraged and depressed with all of this, all I want to do is lay and cry! I can only stand for a couple of minutes at a time and that takes a lot out of me. PLEASE is there any one out there that can tell me what I can do to get back on my feet??????? ANY ideas or suggestions at all???? PLEASE!!!!!!! Guest guest
What does the pain feel like? I know we painers HATE that question, but I have a thought and don't want to influence you until I know what the pain feels like.. dull, sharp, burning, aching, etc Marta From: Hugs-N-Pain [mailto:Hugs-N-Pain ] On Behalf Of Amethyst Angel Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2011 8:30 PM To: Hugs-N-Pain Subject: I am desperate for any help I can get...
