I have had both knees replaced. Recovery time depends on each individual.

It took me 5 months both times. It was well worth the pain of surgery to be

able to walk again.

On August 10th I'll get my 3rd shot of a gel like substance that's supposed

to lubricate the knee.So far I've been able to walk with just a little

pain but my knee still gets stiff.

I think that it's inevitable I'll need my knee replaced.I worry about the

recovery. The doctor said that I'll be hospitalized for 3 days and then sent

home. Then I'm supposed to get a physical therapist to come to my home a

few times a week showing me exercises I'm supposed to do.

But I don't know how long the recovery period will be,so if anyone has had

their knee replaced please let me know.Btw,I'm 68 year old male who before

having an Arthroscopy on March 9th used to walk 1-5 miles 4 times a

week. Now I'm lucky if I can walk 4 blocks without getting pain and stiffness.

I work on my feet and that was how long it took. Each day progress was

made. It is major surgery.
