Hello Bill-My son is also a patient of Dr. G and we have emailed in the past. I

had my phone consult with Dr. G this week and he said there is a major study

coming out in October proving that our kids are suffering from a disease. He

wants to know if we can have a core group of parents organized for an effort to

seize this opportunity, showing that our kids are ill and that they need the

immune modulators to recover. He asked me to email some of the parents from our

conference call from last year and try for a new effort. Would you be

interested?  I hope your son is doing well as mine is now in an adult program

with major adjustment issues going on. Take care.

" You're Going to Love This Kid " is a great resource on inclusion. Several

local parents and I bought copies for the schools and our district office. I

took my copy to my son's IEP where we discussed including him.the principal

said he would not get an aide but I knew an aide was essential to his

success with inclusion. I pulled out my copy and said, " The law says (to the

effect he deserves the least restrictive environment with the proper

supports) " . He has had a 1:1 aide for the last 3 years (well, this year in

2nd she's a classroom aide unless he shows he needs 1:1 - he's doing great).

We are so fortunate to have a very successful inclusion program where

several of our kids with a variety of special needs are fully included, most

with a 1:1 aide and a resource teacher who pushes in to support our kids and

their teachers.
