Guest guest
I too took the Nizoral after reading the book " The Yeast Connection " 6 or 7 years ago. The book recommended going off carbohydrates for at least 6 weeks before taking the medicine. I did that and lost 17 pounds! My doctor was familiar with the book and prescribed the Nizoral for both my husband and me. He said it would do no good if both of us didn't take it because I could be reinfected if my husband was also be a carrier. Just thought I would pass that along. Guest guest
That is interesting, that you can be infected by your partner. I am looking for a Doctor here in Sacramento, CA. who can prescribe Nazorol. Does anyone have any references for me. Cheryl

You must have more of an overgrowth than I do because mine was too low to even do a sensitivity panel. Also, should you take Nizoral, just make sure to take things for the liver. I have been taking Sporanox since December (200mgs/day) and I use milk thistle and NAC to protect mine. So far I feel great and my liver tests are normal. Good luck, Annette

Guest guest
DIANNE I JUST WENT ON THIS DRUG TODAY. BEFORE I WENT AND BROUGHT IT, I LOOKED IT UP AT WEBMD.COM I HAVE BEEN HAVING ALOT OF TROUBLE WITH MY HEAD. I USED THE KIND OF SHAMPOOS THAT HAD COAL TAR IN IT. WHEN I WENT AND GOT THE PILLS, I LOOKED FOR IT AND FOUND IT THE NAME ON THE BOTTLE IS NIZORAL, BUT ITS ALSO CALLED KETOCONAZOLE. IT CAN CAUSE ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE LIVER. Guest guest
Yes I am on the tablets--one a day AND I am also using the shampoo because of recent dramatic hair loss. I've got to start doing liver cleanses though---a matter of discipline for me--I am very concerned about how much my poor liver can take. I also take pain medication for chronic pain. Guest guest
My doctor prescribes an organic coffee enema once a week during yeast die off to cleanse the liver. It helps get the bile out of the liver, plus helps relieve yeast die off symptoms. Candace Re: nizoral Hi Diane i'm very worried about my liver right now too and my adrenals glands. Guest guest
I haven't been on it long this time---I was on it last winter when I got it in Mexico and it really helped then---my tummy got nice and flat. Then I went off the diet when I ran out of medication and money. So it's alot slower this time. I'm on Nizoral and tons of natural antifungals and support supplements---for 2 months now (the nizoral for only a few days) and can't really see any results so far. It's very discouraging but I will keep trying as long as I can afford it. On ModernHerbalist.com he sells something called isocort for the adrenals. Since I've been taking it I've had so much more energy! Diane

Guest guest
You buy a water bottle with the attachments, can get them at wal-mart, Walgreen's, etc. Instructions should come with it. The water bottles use to be used (and for some still are) for douches. They come with 2 or 3 different attachments - 1 is for enemas. Guest guest
KITTY, I WENT TO MY DR. YESTERDAY AND HE GAVE ME NIZORAL 200MG TABLET. HE TOLD ME TO KEEP TAKING NYSTATEN. HE TOLD ME THE NYSTATAN DID NOT GET IN THE BLOOD. I HAVE CANDIDA IN MY BLOOD.I NEED SOMETHING THAT GOES INTO THE BLOOD I HAD BLOOD WORK DONE THAT SHOWED THAT I HAVE A HIGH LEVEL OF CANDIDA. I EVEN BROUGHT THE SHAMPOO. BUG Nizoral Hi, Some people are talking about being 'on' Nizoral as a 'drug'. I haven't heard of this, only the shampoo. Is there an oral Nizoral? The shampoo is both rx and otc. Your doctor can write you an rx for the Nizoral 2%, or you can buy Nizoral 1% over the counter. I don't think it could cause liver damage because it stays on the skin only for a minute or two. What was the reference to Nizoral being good for yeast? I haven't heard that before. You can tell if you have demodex folliculorum if you have hair loss, thinning eyelashes etc. And if you have a lot of freckles. They are the most common human parasite. If you have had immune problems, or a long illness etc, you can get an infestation of them called demidocidosis (sp). One way to tell for sure is to make a skin treatment at home: try mixing 2/3 cup of pure olive oil with 1/3 cup of pure tea tree oil. Take a nice shower. Then massage the oil all over your body. You should be able to see the mites. Kitty
Guest guest
Kitty, Yes----Dr. Crook mentions it many times in his book Yeast Connection which is a book recommended by this list: CureZone. It is stronger than Nystatin and often quite effective. Diane Mc
Guest guest
When I was first diagnosed, I had to go through IV treatments to cleans my blood. I probably need to do it again, but I can't really afford it. I'm currently covered in hives, which drive me nuts. I'm going back on the 90 day diet my doctor put me on once before to help kill it and I've ordered some formula stuff that is suppose to kill yeast as well. I hope it will work out (: Candace Re: Nizoral KITTY, I WENT TO MY DR. YESTERDAY AND HE GAVE ME NIZORAL 200MG TABLET. HE TOLD ME TO KEEP TAKING NYSTATEN. Guest guest
To Diane MC... I got of Nizoral due to tests on liver coming back abnormal. It frightened me, and I got off it. I also had headaches, which I was told was very rare. I do not tolerate medication well, due to so many allergies, so I am a bad one to judge. I am sure people have taken Nizoral with good results.
