Guest guest
Our main issue with allergies wasn't the prototypical response, but I dont think our kids have typical situations either. Some kids can be helped with just an antihistamine but my daughter has an EXTREMELY overreactive immune system and it reacts to everything, even foods. She soon became reactive to her meds, too, even though they were a tremendous help at first. My daughter has dark under eye circles (allergic shiners), but that was it. Once in a while she would get hives from something that she ate, she would also get diarrhea from certain foods. Also, her blood work didnt show any significant allergy problems: her EOS% was a 3 and her IgE was a little high but not a big deal. BUT my child no doubt has immune dysfunction so the bloodwork doesn't tell your child's whole story. My daughter's biggest issue so far was her allergies. But the BIGGEST symptom we had was what I like to call a " Jekyll and Hyde " syndrome. My child would break down, tantrum, get really really emotional without warning. I would ask her questions that she knew the answer to like: " do you want to go play outside? " and she couldn't even answer! She cant even perform a simple task when her allergies are triggered such as cleaning up a simple mess of blocks. She gets so spacy and she just cannot deal with whats going on or not getting her way. I think I should post up a video on my you tube account so people can know what we go through with her. Believe me this is not a behavioral issue. Once we started doing the p/n treatments we have a new daughter today. If I forget to give her her shots I KNOW IT. The " old kid " starts creeping back with her stim behaviors and tantrums. If you suspect your child has allergies, I am sure they do. The problem is, if they are allergic to many things it is hard to tell what you need to eliminate at first because their immune system is firing all of the time. Hope I was a help, let me know if you need anything else. - > > > > > > > > congrats on the great ATEC score. do you mind sharing what you did from jan to june to get such a great improvement. Guest guest
Hey Argie, If you want to read more about it there is a book by Dr. Doris Rapp called " Is this your child " its a classic and at any library. Also here are some good webpages with a good explanation of the treatment we do: http://www.ourlittleplace.com/case.html http://www.ourlittleplace.com/mitd.html It is medically sound yet most allergists do not do this, I dont know why, I dont understand it because it WORKS. This and Valtrex made the most difference in my daughter. If you want to know where you can find a doctor who does this you look on www.aaemonline.org. Make sure it is an MD or a DO who is doing the testing and call ahead to find out if they will test on children. Hope this helps! - > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > congrats on the great ATEC score. do you mind sharing > > what you did from jan to june to get such a great improvement. > > Caroline > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
