Guest guest
I hear you! Good luck with your treatment, and I hope things level out very soon. Gael You can cycle and have your hormones be off unfortunately. Believe me if I didn't have to do it I wouldn't touch any of it! Guest guest
Yip, DHEA caused me bad acne until I got my estrogen sorted. You need enough estrogen to oppose the testosterone the DHEA makes. Have you noticed that everyone is saying you need to get your estrogen checked? Just a hunch, but maybe you should get it checked:) Yes, taking the estrogen definately stopped the symptoms! I was cycling, but it wasnt going very well at all!It is really hard to figure out what to do, but I really value the support I get at this site. > > > > I would guess it's low estradiol. Guest guest
Pretty much every book I have read. When I take less I bleed even worse.kittyTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 5:40:15 PMSubject: RE: need help... mid cylce bleeding Nope. Your estrogen is being overwhelmed by progesterone. Where did you read that low P causes premature bleeding? Val From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of kitty Haindl Well my question was really why do I start bleeding around day 15, when I should be ovulating... I have read this is due to low progesterone. kitty
Guest guest
I can only take so much estrogen before I feel like I am rolled in fiberglass. I know everyone is saying to get it checked but I am way in debt with no insurance so not much I can do right now about it.DHEA isn't the best for those with bad adrenals since it lowers cortisol. kittyTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 5:53:21 PMSubject: Re: need help... mid cylce bleeding Yip, DHEA caused me bad acne until I got my estrogen sorted. Guest guest
no I was waiting until I had thick discharge around day 15 to start progesterone. I have never had break through or spotting before this. I usually have some pain with ovulation though.kittyTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 9:45:41 PMSubject: Re: need help... mid cylce bleeding I used to always have a little spotting WHEN I ovulated. It happened from about age 16 until my cycles grew irregular close to menopause. It wasn't outright bleeding, but was spotting for a day or two. Gael well if you're taking progesterone before day 15, it probably suppresses ovulation, and decreases estrogen...so low estrogen, break thru bleeding....but that's just a guess... - Subject: Re: need help... mid cylce bleeding :(To: rhythmicliving Date: Wednesday, February 2, 2011, 8:27 PM My progesterone was very low as well. I had read that long heavy cycles was from low progesterone. I though you had to take progesterone when you were cycling when you are taking estrogen and you don't have to after menopause?kitty To: rhythmicliving Sent: Wed, February 2, 2011 11:21:57 PMSubject: RE: need help... mid cylce bleeding I would guess it's low estradiol. Guest guest
Because all my hormones are suppressed due to adrenal disease.kittyTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 9:49:49 PMSubject: Re: need help... mid cylce bleeding I don't know why anyone cycling normally would use either estrogen OR progesterone! Gael Your progesterone is supposed to be very low at certain times of the month. Your flooding too often is a result of excess progesterone; you don't have enough estrogen to hold a lining in relation to the amount of progesterone you're getting. If you're using a P cream, it is likely building up in your fat. Progesterone's purpose is to protect the uterus - either through causing a periodic shed or through preventing any build-up in the first place. You have it backwards about when you have to take progesterone. If you're cycling normally, again, I don't know why you're using it. Guest guest
No worries. I likely have 's disease which is when the body attacks the adrenal glands and causes them to fail. By symptoms I have always had low hormones in general even though my cycles were 'regular' but the meds to fix the adrenal issues made everything else get even worse so I had to start supplementing them. You can cycle and have your hormones be off unfortunately. Believe me if I didn't have to do it I wouldn't touch any of it! I'm sorry to hear about your adrenal problems. But if you're cycling normally wouldn't that mean that your female hormones are working all right? This is just a question, I didn't mean criticism of the way you're doing anything. As everyone keeps saying, we're all different and all have to find what works for us. Gael Because all my hormones are suppressed due to adrenal disease. kitty To: rhythmicliving Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 9:49:49 PMSubject: Re: need help... mid cylce bleeding I don't know why anyone cycling normally would use either estrogen OR progesterone! Guest guest
Hi, Dr. Vliet said that when she tested some of her younger clients they showed signs of LOW E during the luteal phase so she supplemented with E during the end of the cycle to deal with the symptoms of PMS. Her books are excellent sources. LaurelI don't know why anyone cycling normally would use either estrogen OR progesterone! Guest guest
The itchy feeling is called formication. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formication Dr. Vliet says this is a result of low estrogen (or I have had it when my E was blocked by too much P). A possible reason for more E initially causing a sensation of LOW E is that E will also provoke more P reception (per Dr. Formby). When I was getting off the WP and had too much P in my body I had to use much more E to "climb over the P" to get past provoking more P reception and finally getting my body to HEAR the E. We aren't dealing with simply the levels of hormones in our bodies, there is also the issue of the receptors on our cells being able to HEAR the hormones. Overdosing of any kind can cause a cascading result which throws the entire system out of whack. It's possible that too much T3 can cause problems. I use T3 so I'm not slamming the use of it. I believe that last year there was a published study that supported the use of 20mcg of T3 a day. That was a big step up from Dr. Ahem recommending 7.5 mcg a day. I have friends who take loads more, but if one is having trouble and taking super high T3, it would be worth taking a look at that as a problem. As for cheaper testing. www.lef.org offers cheaper blood testing with requisitions for blood draws at LabCorp facilities which are often located in hospitals. If you are a member you get much better prices AND usually during April and May there is a super sale. The requisitions last for 6 months. I buy a 6 month supply each year and do my yearly analysis of my hormones during the 6 month period following the sale. Guest guest
Hi, Dr. Reiss does this as well. It’s what he has me doing! It’s against ‘standard’ doctor protocol, but clearly it works.
