Guest guest
We have had to wait sometimes 21 days but after a month, I would switch as Dr. G suggests....HTH Sincerely Noel From: bekeleelizabeth <bekeleelizabeth@...> Subject: zoloft & celexa question Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 7:22 PM Hello All, My son,10, has been on zoloft for 25 days with no gain & minor negatives, a little restless & takes a long time to fall asleep. We started with 1/4tab, then increased to 1/2tab(25mg) 12 days ago. Dr.G. suggested we switch to celexa today but we are wondering if we're too quick to change from zoloft. The negatives are manageable at this point, it's just that we're not sure if we wait a little longer will we start to see some changes??? I wanted to ask if people waited longer than a month on any SSRI before they saw any gains?? Appreciate any feed back! thank you & God bless! Guest guest
Same here. You probably should be seeing gains and the negatives should have gone away by now if they were going to. Celexa was good for two of my boys and not so good for the third. Zoloft wasn't good for the two who do well on Celexa but seems to working for the third. Go figure! Guest guest
Thank you guys for your respond! we'll start the celexa tomorrow! Robyn, do you remember how quickly you saw results on your 2 boys when you started the celexa? and did you have to wait until you were at the highest doze to see any gains? thanks for your help! Guest guest
It was rough for the first week with Noah, but after that, we was calmer and had fewer outbursts. He's on a combination of very low doses of three SSRIs right now, and the combo really works for him. We saw great gains when we increased Wellbutrin a little bit and started Effexor. With Effexor we saw an increase in verbal communication, which is huge for him.
