Guest guest
Yes. I had it so bad for a while I couldn't boil water to make tea without being at risk of burning the house down. Doxycycline saved me. It is the only thing that helped. It can be quite dramatic. You may want your ASO titers checked.] HTH ________________________________ From: Briffa SeventySeven <briffa77@...> Sent: Sun, January 24, 2010 11:37:19 AM Subject: ADHD, CFIDS and short term memory  Hello, I've been diagnosed with ADHD and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My son has Autism. The concept of Neuroimmune Deficiency Syndrome makes sense to me. Stimulant medications have helped with my concentration while doing certain things like reading a book or listening to a lecture but is has not helped my short term memory. I am still constantly misplacing my keys, pocket book, mail, you name it. Has anybody else had or treated this short term memory deficit, and what has helped to remediate it? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks, Bridget
Guest guest
For me, antivirals and treating high ASO titers helped with this. I've been on antibiotics for 18 months now and my ASO has gone from over 2,000 to 598. OCD and memory problems have greatly improved. All the best, Robyn ________________________________ From: <thecolemans4@...> Sent: Tue, January 26, 2010 5:52:43 AM Subject: Re: ADHD, CFIDS and short term memory Yes. Guest guest
Hello Everybody, Thank you so much all the information. Which doctor(s) or type of doctor(s) should I try to contact? Does Dr. Goldberg or Dr. Klimas have any colleagues in the New York area or somewhere on the East Coast? Guest guest
I second Robyn - my success from Doxycycline is due to bringing down my ASO titers. However, other antibiotics can do that too, but they don't bring me the relief w/the memory thing. Some things can spark it off worse. Are you on any meds now? Do you have any history of chronic strep infections, sinus infections, or lung infections/bronchitis (like mycoplasma pneu.)? Do you take any probiotics? They can make a few people worse so if you have this problem you have to be careful with those. Share your history with us and maybe we can point out some similarities and what helps. Guest guest
To those of you who are on Doxycycline, Would you mind sharing dosage? The reason I ask is because along with my son, I was a patient of Dr. G's last year, but due to financial reasons, decided to stop his protocol and focus on my son's recovery. Strangely enough, my dermatologist recently prescribed Doxy for my acne and it would be interesting (and fantastic) to see if it helps my short term memory! I feel like my brain is at about 50% efficiency most days. Thanks for all your input, > > I second Robyn - my success from Doxycycline is due to bringing down my ASO titers. > HTH > > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Robyn & Greg Coggins <rngcoggs@...> > > Sent: Tue, January 26, 2010 5:08:52 PM > Subject: Re: ADHD, CFIDS and short term memory > >  > For me, antivirals and treating high ASO titers helped with this.
