Guest guest
Hello, Have not posted in a while but I have a friend that was taking E and P and recently had a dermoid cyst removed, she stopped all hormones and than after taking 2 aspirin one night went into anaphylactic shock. Since then it has happened to her twice more after eating other foods. Could this be some sort of reaction to the P she has been taking for a while. Does P cause allergic type reactions? Worried about her. Thanks, Bigbird
Guest guest
BigBird! Hi! How are you doing? How are you and your daughters? About your question. For me. Yes. I never had a single allergic reaction to anything until I was using OTC progesterone. It was carefully measured only 14 days a month. It was supported by my doc and pharmacist. After a few months I started getting huge face swelling. Something would stink in my face and half of it would be huge. And the allergies just got worse. My doc gave me an epi pen as he was worried about that reaction happening near my throat. When allergy season came the only thing that gave relief was intravenous Vit C!! I moved out of Austin the the Northwest. A saliva test revealed too much P, but I didn't understand the consequences. In the NW, that's when I met the WP promoters in my area and got on that. The first few lines of E felt like heaven even though it made me nauseated with a headache. All other pain and lethargy and allergy feeling was gone. Until 4 days into the P cycle and all the hell came back, with bleeding. Since I got off the WP and eventually detoxed the P I am rather oblivious to most things people are allergic too. I'm around lots of cats when I visit friends, the springtime is fine, dust is fine. I haven't gone to Austin during cedar fever though. But what knocks me? A cycle of Prometrium. If I do it too long then illness returns and allergy returns. Might just be me, but P is hard on me. Oh, and during the lat pregnancy (one after using OTC P and having gotten allergies) at the end of the pregnancy my skin was breaking open and it looked like poison ivy. I thought that was it at the time, but when on the WP I got the same oozing from my broken open skin. I talked to Dr. Formby about it and he pointed out that the time I got the broken open skin was the height of the P during my pregnancy. I did other research on it about P and those sores and wiki had links. To me the whole mess of problems were P. You could show your friend the P dominance article on the RL that discusses how long it takes to get it out of the body. Guest guest
Thanks Laurel, I am doing good just turned 50 and have been on just E Patch for the last couple of years. My girls are doing well and just taking Vit D for now. I am getting my period every 28days (the most regular I have ever been has been the last 4 yrs). Still on high Vit D and calcium a little thyroid and on a gluten free diet. Don't need any P because I still get my period for 5 days and shed the lining and when last checked my P was about 16 so my body is doing its own thing. Can't handle any P at all from the outside. I will tell my friend to maybe start the E slowly and take as small a dose to keep her comfortable and to stay away from the P. Guest guest
That's great to hear Karin! I love your story and how you and your daughters so elegantly and simply supported your ovarian systems. For anyone interested search the archives for Karin's posts (Bigbird). What strength of E patch are you on? I might be able to kick my system back in. I'm finally down to 1.5 E gel a day now (.75 AM and .75 PM). Many days I simply forget to put it on now because I don't get hot flashes or major signs that I'm low on E. My mother, who got off WP the same time as me hasn't been able to get her dose as low as I've gotten mine. She has a doc who is always going on about " the lining, the lining " so that gets the P story going and I'm concerned that Mom is a bit overdosed again if she needs a 100 patch every 3 days. From my memory an Estraderm 100 is about 8 mg of E total. If I could go back to the person I was many years ago with too much P in my body I'd tell her to use E to get over the hump of P overdose. About the lining...? I'd say, better to keep your body healthy overall and the immune system in top form rather than crash it all for abstract uterus fears. Guest guest
I am on .05 vivelle for 3 weeks, and the week of my period I don't use any E and then I start up again by cutting the patch in half .025 for a day or two. Period is pretty normal and heavy for a two days and get cramps on day one or two where I have to take some advil. Starting to take more fish oil and may try some black currant oil as well (just read it helps pms on study out of Brazil). > >> > >>> Hello, > >>> Have not posted in a while but I have a friend that was taking E and P and recently had a dermoid cyst removed, she stopped all hormones and than after taking 2 aspirin one night went into anaphylactic shock.
