Guest guest
If they fax the list to the lab, they can give them a cost estimate. But insurance will reduce the prices down to their allowable, so it will be hard to estimate copays. If you get the lab codes instead (fax the list and get the codes back instead of pricing), then you can fax it to the insurance company and get the deductible and copays on it that way - that would be the closest estimate. Dr Goldberg's office may have the actual codes ... they're not cpt codes, they're something else in the same line .... brain lock .... hcpcs? I remember hearing the initial workup could run up to $2200 before insurance. I think that's cheaper now, and most all are covered by insurance except the food screen, which used to be about $100.00. If budget is an issue, the most important immune-based labs can be done. Sometimes that is based on the child's history. Some of the other labs are just done to rule out other problems (like thyroid), but are good labs to do in order to identify other possible causes. Can anybody give me a ball-park for the cost of the initial bloodwork-up - I know this can be difficult with insurance copays, deductibles etc , Thanks
Guest guest
If you have been on other treatments you may well have reached your max out of pocket the the co pays are not applicable. The food screen has gone to $136.00. If you can get this done before years end it may be minimal. If you wait until the first of the year you will need to make your deductible (Ours is $900 per individual( and it will go up dramatically From: <thecolemans4@...> Subject: Re: Cost of Initial Blood Work-up Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2009, 8:12 PM Â If they fax the list to the lab, they can give them a cost estimate.
