Guest guest
The EXACT SAME THING happens to me if I forget to apply my estrodiol gel. It's a low estrogen thing for 'me'. Perhaps it's likewise with you. I am without my uterus/ovaries and do take topical estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone in low amounts to alleviate symptoms, and I'm 59. Guest guest
Hi Sam, It's good to hear someone else is dealing with this. I wondered if maybe my residual E levels dropped more as I got many more months past my last period, and I also lost 10 pounds in about 9 months, so less body fat to hold the E. I've been afraid to use more E because I detest and loathe P and will not use it anymore. I only use a bit of E at night but I may try increasing that since I know my own endogenous E must be rock bottom. Someone on another group said hers was caused my a tipped urethra and weak bladder. Once she had sling (?) surgery she was fine and is still fine 3 years later. I really, really want to avoid surgery if possible. > > The EXACT SAME THING happens to me if I forget to apply my estrodiol gel. > It's a low estrogen thing for 'me'. Guest guest
If you still have ovaries, they might still be producing some progesterone. They don't completely die off after meno. Plus adrenals also produce 'some' sex hormones and work 'with' ovaries - sex hormones are used in the body in other things than just reproduction. For example, when I forget to take progesterone my aldosterone drops...ick. Oh, uh, I'm also hypopituitary so no real help from 'my' adrenals as far as making any sex hormones is concerned... But I think, really, a tipped urethra being the cause is probably quite a stretch. Guest guest
Sam, I still do have ovaries. So what symptoms do you get when your aldosterone drops? > > If you still have ovaries, they might still be producing some > progesterone. They don't completely die off after meno. Guest guest
Irregular heart beat and " salt wasting " - peeing a river every few minutes. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/aldosterone Sam ===== > Sam, > I still do have ovaries. > > So what symptoms do you get when your aldosterone drops? > > > > >> >> If you still have ovaries, they might still be producing some >> progesterone. Guest guest
Even though I do pee a lot, I do not have those other symptoms. Also had doc check my HbgA1C for possible diabetes and he said it looked great. I don't really feel thirsty. Maybe too much caffeine? > > Irregular heart beat and " salt wasting " - peeing a river every few minutes. > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/aldosterone > > Sam >
Guest guest
Um, low progesterone causes " my " aldosterone to lower, probably due to " me " being hypO-pituitary and having adrenals that are unable to function well. Not saying " you " would have that problem. " You " might just be having the pee problem just because estrogen is lower. Sam ===== > Even though I do pee a lot, I do not have those other symptoms. Guest guest
Hi, - There are prescription drugs for this condition (although I personally do not know how well they work)...see for instance from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001270.htm (excerpted below). ~ r ~ MEDICATION Medications used to treat urge incontinence relax the involuntary bladder contractions and help improve bladder function. There are several types of medications that may be used alone or in combination: Anticholinergic medicines help relax the muscles of the bladder. They include oxybutynin (Oxytrol, Ditropan), tolterodine (Detrol), darifenacin (Enablex), trospium (Sanctura), solifenacin (Vesicare) These are the most commonly used medications for urge incontinence and are available in a once-a-day formula that makes dosing easy and effective. The most common side effects of these medicines are dry mouth and constipation. The medications cannot be used by patients with narrow angle glaucoma. > > Hi all, > > I don't post much, but occasionally do still read. I will be in home (or in a store, which is worse, you will see why) doing fine, when suddenly this powerful urge comes upon me to urinate, and if I do not get to a toilet RIGHT THEN I will wet myself. Usually if I stop and get in a certain position and concentrate for almost 5 minutes, the urge subsides enough to make it to a bathroom, but often I can barely get my pants unzipped before I start urinating and sometimes the seat gets wet. > > One time I was in a store and the urge hit, and it was bad.
