So disappointed after a wasted 2 hour drive to see this doctor...

Hi,

Yesterday got up very early to go with my son (who by the way took off from work

to take me)the 2 + hours to get to this doctor who I thought was the

answer....Needless to say, she was a great disappointment. I hate Western

medicine. what they teach these doctors is a real crime. Drugs and drugs and

more drugs. they don't know how to cure, but to treat with drugs and then they

raise up their hands and say, I don't know, or could be, its a possibility and

so on.

I came to her all prepared and with a shopping bag of test results, information,

emails from this group and others. I had written down everything. I told her she

was my last hope. She was young and someone I thought would give me her time and

understanding...after talking to her about my concerns and how I have been

feeling (terrible) all she could do is write on her computer and not even look

at me. I told her about my reverse T3 results, cortisol, progesterone and

estradiol levels on the saliva tests. she was not that impressed or showed very

little concern and said that western medicine is not that concerned about

reverse T3 levels and they don't even teach that level in medical school. she

told me to go see a naturopath who can address it and all the other concerns and

health issues. To appease me, she ordered another TSH, but told me my levels

were good. I think they are low (but what do I know) she ordered some other

tests too (forgot what they were, but only 1 vial of blood was taken, so how

many could she have ordered, not many) I forgot to ask her to add in a HGBA1C,

Lyme and another T3, T4 and reverse T3. I called today and spoke with her nurse,

but I seriously doubt she will do it. After talking to her for about 30 minutes,

she took me into her exam room and gave me a literally 5 minute exam. she

touched my thyroid for about 1 sec, listened to my heart for 3 seconds and made

me push against her hands for another few seconds. and she had to go to medical

school for this? I could do a better job as a former nurse. After the fact and

leaving, I was livid, and felt like going back there and telling her off and

saying to her, this is what I get for traveling so far away? shame on her. she

came highly recommended by a friend who happened to like her, but then again,

her case was an easy one.

These doctors are a great disappointment. We are beholden to them for our care

and when they don't know what to do or rely on what they learned in medical

school, if you complain to them, they fire you and send you on your way.

Thankfully I have an appt with a naturopath in July (yes, I have to wait that

long to see him and he wanted a 50.00 deposit just to book the appointment,

shame, shame) I don't know if I can hold out until then as I am feeling horrible

and suffering terribly.

It's been raininng non stop here in the Northeast, and my moods are matching as

I feel, TERRIBLE and I am scared that I will never get better.

One last thing, she told me the cortisol done by saliva is not reliable and she

ordered a 24 hour urine test. Oh, remember I am 2 hours away from her and to

have to travel back to her to drop off this urine is just not feasible. I don't

drive anymore and have to rely on those who are busy and are working which makes

it even more impossible. I have no friends to take me.

I had to take a valium just to get through yesterday and if I have to take them

until I get some real answers, I will get addicted.

In a previous post, I posted my history and lab results regarding my

progesterone, estradiol, DHEA and DHEAS, cortisol, and all the other tests I

had.

Now I am even more uncertain and don't know where else to go or who to turn to.

This weather is making my muscles and neck ache and I am in so much pain, as it

is just adding into my misery physically and mentally.

Sorry to be venting so much here, but didn't know who else to turn to. I am so

confused as I read so much about who has this and what they are doing and how

their doctors are helping them. Since October, I have had not one doctor help me

or know what to do or even believe me. My family is at their wits end with me,

as I am with myself....
