HHV-6 and EBV

Hello everybody,

I have suffered from chronic fatigue for the past 16 years since I was a

teenager after I had mononucleosis.  My EBV IgG and EBC VCA antibodies are very

high, the lab report results say  >8.0, indicating possible reactivation.  I

just received results from my HHV-6 and I have very high IgM antibodies 1:320

indicating recent infection or reactivation.  I recently ordered Immunovir and

Amantadine.  I know immunovir is used to help Chronic Fatigue by fighting EBV

but is Immunovir known to work on HHV-6?

Also, I bought the amantadine because I read that it helps with ADHD.  Has

anybody seen amantadine help with EBV and HHV-6?

hi Bridget

my son is on amantadine, and we are having huge success with it. it is to do

with the production of histermine in the body, amantadine crosses the blood

brain barrier and inhibits the nerve endings taking up to much histamine.

unbelieveable the difference it has made in my son. i cut the gel tabs in half

he only has 50mg, my dr has used it on other childern with autsim with huge

success.

i am also a CFS suffere i cam back with positives to EBV, chlamidya pneomaine

and a few other things, but luckily my hhv-6 was negative. i see Prof De

meiriler thru my dr here in australia, prof de meirlier is back in australia in

april, will be getting him to test my son.

have also started a protocol with him, which is very intense. so will see how it

all goes

Have you ever visited the HHV6 Foundation website? is the research

person to speak with... www.hhv-6foundation.org I have been speaking with her

for over a year now regarding my husband and daughter. (my hubby has CFS too)

She recommended Immunovir for my daughter since I really didn't want to put her

on a really strong med otherwise. She listed a bunch of Immune supplements and

Immunovir was one of many of them. has been extremely helpful in our

search for the right answers with EBV and HHV 6. HTH, Tricia
