Guest guest
Hi everyone I am 40 yrs old and on a small daily dose of bi-est (from a naturopath) for autoimmune/CFS type issues. The estrogen helps a lot with my symptoms and makes me feel much better in general. However, I cannot tolerate progesterone so I don't take any. My periods are not extra heavy but every now and again they are irregular and sometimes I do get spotting lately, although it usually seems to happen when I change my thyroid med dose. I want to go to a gyn and see if I can get a biopsy just to make sure everything is okay, but I am afraid to tell her about taking the estrogen for autoimmune stuff. I have had docs treat me like a crazy person for that in the past. This whole thing is freaking me out because my sister just got diagnosed with cervical cancer (she is close to my age). I know that cervical cancer is a whole different animal in that it is from a virus and not with hormones, but it still make me worry that I am going to get cancer. How should I handle all of this when I talk to a new gyn? I just feel like I need to have someone check me once in a while for cancer while I am on this stuff. Any advice?
