Guest guest
Laurie, Since you said you saw Uzzi, and this means you might be local, you might consider consulting with Farrell. She will do more than just pellets. I love her. :-) http://www.bioidenticalwellness.com/ My history of hormone stuff is long and complicated :-) And I’m not suggesting pellets nessecarily, but pellets are the ONLY hormone delivery that I have really responded to. I’m still in the tweaking stages but even this is better than anything I’ve ever tried. I had 2 appointments with Uzzi over the years but cancelled both times. I knew if I went, he would load me up on supplements that do nothing but make things worse for me. I do know a couple of ladies who go to him and love him but I didn’t feel it was going to be a fit and he’s expensive. Well so is but at least I left with pellets in me and zero supplements. She has been helping my husband with his testo and it’s been helping. He does not want to do the pellets so she prescribed him Testo gel from WIP. MUCH better than the Androgel or Testum. Good luck! Liz Hi Val, No, I haven't had a period for quite a long time. The last two doctors that I saw told me that I would 100% get uterine cancer if I didn't take progesterone and shed the lining. In fact, I had to get a pelvic/vaginal ultrasound in January because it freaked them out. It came back fine. Uzzi was the only one not too concerned about it. He said it's mostly the younger doctors who freak out about that stuff. That's an interesting thought about my possibly producing enough progesterone on my own but the labs don't tell that story. The numbers are always in the negative. Well, I was on the same estradiol cream through a compounding pharmacy for over 2 years. My levels were checked every 3 months and they were either very high (300's) or very low (in January my estrogen was a measly 38)despite being on the same amount. I thought my estrogen was doing the roller coaster thing. Uzzi thinks that the cream (even if dried) was being scooped up by the needle sometimes when labs were drawn thus the high levels. So he said that he feels my estrogen has just been very low all along. Then it was the Vivelle Dot for a very brief time (maybe 3 weeks) and I had terrible low estrogen symptoms. My doctor at the time wouldn't even consider upping the dose. She tried to blame my symptoms on my thyroid medication. Uzzi put me on this Bi-est that I've been taking since the 3rd week of February. It's 3mg (estriol = 2mg, estradiol = 1mg) per 2 clicks and I take total of 8 clicks a day. So 12mg a day of estrogen. He keeps telling me that I should get those symptoms of high estrogen (very sore breasts)and that's when I need to back off a bit but I've yet to have high estrogen symptoms. So maybe not taking progesterone is okay even with a uterus? Oh, I was also taking testosterone because that is always in the negative on labs too but Uzzi told me to stop that too. I guess it's just getting all bound up in the SHBG? lol...crazy making. Is Estrogel OTC? Have you had the best luck with that? <15 is horribly low. You must've felt terrible. Thank you for responding. I really appreciate it. Laurie
Guest guest
Hi Liz, Am I reading her wrong, or does she seem to like estriol and progesterone, or is this for women still cycling? It's an interesting site, and I'm within range. Gael Laurie,Since you said you saw Uzzi, and this means you might be local, you might consider consulting with Farrell. Guest guest
Hi,Is she of the school of balancing hormones and inducing a period?Thank you.Nita To: rhythmicliving Sent: Friday, March 16, 2012 8:56 AM Subject: Re: Re: First post/Laurie Hi Laurie, The pellets are Bio Identical, Estradiol and Testosterone. They are rice sized pellets that are inserted in your butt cheek every 3-4 months (average). Not painful (at least not for me). They then release into your bloodstream as needed. (This is very simplified as there is more to it than that). But I do believe if you don’t want to go the pellet route just yet, she prescribes topicals. Progesterone is not in pellet form. If one must use it, she suggests sublignual and at small doses to be able to control it better. I do use a tiny bit of P now but still playing with that. Good luck! Keep us posted! Liz Hi Liz, So interesting that you mention Farrell! I called a compounding pharmacy a few days ago to get some names of physicians or NP's who prescribe bioidenticals and that was the first name the pharmacist gave me. She said she's very good! Maybe it's a sign? lol...Yeah, if I had unlimited funds then I might continue to go to Uzzi BUT that's not the case and his supplement pushing is annoying. I've never even heard of the pellets. Is that considered homeopathic? Do you take both estrogen and progesterone in pellet form? I'm so glad you finally found a route that works for you and it's a relief to know that I haven't exhausted all of my options. Thank you so much for letting me know this as it helps me to narrow down who I might want to see next. I also got the name of a doctor in Westlake Village who takes insurance so I might try that first but again at least I have some options! Thanks again! Guest guest
Hi Nita, I actually have no idea as I had a hyst and I didn’t ask that question. You might be able to email her or call her office and find out. Liz Hi, Is she of the school of balancing hormones and inducing a period? Thank you.
