Guest guest
Hi Terri, On the estriol, you are correct .. yes so are the other forms of estrogen produced during pregnancy. The only problem is .. estriol is usually ONLY produced during pregnancy. (When looking at a women in her productive years, unless she is pregnant, estriol will pretty much not show up on blood levels.) Consequently, when talking about doing what is "normal" for your body, using estriol as an estrogen supplementation cannot be considered "normal" for any women's body .. unless she is pregnant of course. Doc's using estriol as part of a women's HRT .. I don't believe can be considered normal for a womens body. I agree about the E antogonists .. but I think my question for you is .. if Testosterone is considered an E antogonist (did I understand that correctly?) how can testosterone convert to estrogen? I have many doc's that have indicated to me that my T converts to estrogen . (My confusion is probably about the wording, maybe?) I have never understood that taking testosterone will lower my E levels .. ? I do use the prometrium (100mgs) 12 days a month and that does bring on a (approx.) 4-5 day bleed. I will not ever take any "E" antagonists, they cause blood clots, lost bone, hot flashes, and on and on. That being said, it sounds like what you are doing is working for YOUR BODY, and that is great! Estriol IS produced during pregnancy, but so are the two other forms of Estrogen. Estadiol is the most active form..it is the strongest form.Estriol is the weakest. It's not much help for replacement. What I personally think is what clicked for you, is that you are taking Prometrium 12 days a month..do you bleed? I didn't until my "E" levels got up to 500pg/ML. I'm happy for you that you found what works for YOUR body!! Terri To: rhythmicliving Sent: Sunday, October 9, 2011 8:50 PMSubject: Re: Pellets -Glo I think I am confused. While we know .. when we think of estrogen and testosterone, they are "opposite". But testosterone converts to estrogen .. right?? This is quite a concern for men who are on testosterone supplementation. .. and then they do take what is considered an estrogen antogonist, to aid in lowering that too high of estrogen level. Maybe I did not understand what you were saying Terri? Estriol, from what I understand, is the estrogen we produce when we are pregnant. Otherwise it is pretty much nonexitent in the women's body. I actually went backwards with any kind of improvements I had made on estradiol cream when I changed docs and she insisted I switch to estriol. That lasted all of three months .. and then I moved on. I truly have tried every cream and every other type of hormone supplementation. I did not receive even 1/4 of the improvements that I have finally achieved with the my E and T pellets. (I cycle prometrium 12 days a month.). We certainly know that pellets may not be the answer for everyone .. but I do want to shout from my mountain top what has worked for me, in the hopes that others may be able to achieve the same results. :)Best,Glo>Viki,> ANYTHING you put on your skin ANYWHERE will get into your system. Your skin is your largest "organ". The skin on your face is thinner than say on your thigh, so it is absorbed easier. That is also why anytime one has surgery on their face, it heals faster than on the body. Estriol is a "weak" Estrogen, that is probably why you feel that it doesn't affect your entire system, but it does. Testoterone is an E antagonist(which means it blocks E), so one would need to monitor both(or all if using more than one hormone). Again, just trying to be helpful, not judging.>Terri> >>>________________________________>>To: rhythmicliving >Sent: Saturday, October 8, 2011 1:09 PM>Subject: RE: Pellets -Glo>>> > > >Hi Liz, I just saw your post and thought I should share my 2 cents- about the break-outs while on testosterone. I take a little testosterone to help out my adrenals but even with that amount I do break out some in the second part of the cycle when I up the doze. My experience is that it's a result of not sufficient estrogen to counteract testosterone. Even though my own (I don't supplement with estrogen) est. levels at ovulation are 300-350, it is still not enough to prevent the break-outs when I use the testosterone cream. I will never give up the testosterone because it's the best (and actually good for you) antidepressant and energizer for me, so I found a solution. I use estriol face cream (I got it on Internet, 'Rejuvenate' by Biogenesis- but there are plenty others and your compound pharmacy can mix you one) on my problem areas- (even twice a day before my periods)- and that completely takes care of the problem, even blackheads. You neeD a decent amount of estrogen to maintain a healthy libido too.>>>>________________________________>To: rhythmicliving >Date: Sat, 8 Oct 2011 07:39:31 -0700>Subject: Pellets -Glo>> >Hi Glo,>Thanks for sharing this! Guest guest
Glo, Too much T will convert to Estrone..the form of E that is higher in post-menopausal women and men. Estrone is not a good form of E to have at high levels..I "believe"(could be off on this)that high Estrone levels are associated with heart disease and breast cancer in men and women. SO happy for you that your levels are good and more importantly that you FEEL good!TerriTo: "rhythmicliving " <rhythmicliving >Sent: Monday, October 10, 2011 9:37 AMSubject: Re: Pellets -Glo Hi Terri, On the estriol, you are correct .. yes so are the other forms of estrogen produced during pregnancy.
