New to the group - Serious side effects after a month on WP

Dear all,

I have just subscribed to the group after finding out about the potential

problems of the WP protocol. Alas, too late for me, as I took the full

recommended doses of hormones for a full month.

I have hypopituitarism and was on thyroid and adrenal replacement (physiological

doses). I was looking for a gentle way to replace my sexual hormones and found

WP, which came highly recommended.

The first two weeks on estrogen went really well. I obviously am in sore need of

hormones due to my condition and the estrogen made me feel calm and grounded.

However, the 2 weeks on progesterone sent me into an adrenal crisis which nearly

landed me in ER. I had to take large doses of corticoids to survive and, nearly

two weeks later, I'm still trying to reduce the corticoids and finding it very

difficult.

My face is swollen, I have severe hypoglucemias, swollen red legs, edema,

digestive trouble, vision issues and, in general, I'm feeling very depressed and

cheated about the whole thing.

My WP doctor, of course, wants me to continue, but I cannot do this after having

gone through this crisis and feeling still so poorly.

I know you're not supposed to give medical advice, but do you think a month on

this protocol is difficult to reverse? I would like to stop it for good and then

reconsider my options, but is it dangerous to just stop it cold turkey?

I am now on the second day of my second WP cycle and have not stopped applying

the estrogen in case it helps with the excess progesterone.

Does anyone have any advice? I am in Spain and don't know any doctors around

here to turn to. My endocrinologist got really angry at me that I decided to

try WP and wants nothing to do with it.

Should I continue the estrogen for a while and taper it off? When is the best

part of the cycle to stop this protocol?

Thank you very much in advance for any insights.
