Guest guest
Deb, I too, have insulin resistance. I had pellets inserted a little over a month ago, and so far it’s going pretty good. My E is now up to 117. (This is good for me!) My testo is 134.(High I know) My P is .5 (had a hyst, no P usage). My fasting blood sugar most days are 95-97. And if I eat certain carbs it can spike up to 150-160ish. (I’m skinny so it’s a balancing act on to little carbs and weight loss. I don’t eat sugar or gluten). Then one day, it will be completely normal for several days with no changes in diet. I can not figure out why this is. This was pre pellets. Since the pellet insertion, I have not noticed any normal blood sugar days. I have checked my adrenals and they look good for the am and noon and then a bit high on the 4pm and midnight. My Thyroid probably could use a little help but nothing critical at this time. Liz Sheree, I never did Wiley but am having issues getting my hormones adjusted. I had been on hydrocortisone for weak adrenals and when I came off of it, my sex hormones went high, especially E, I am guessing. I had the cycle that Dr. S says you want. Then, I listened to Dr. S's Menopause Power program and was convinced enough to switch to cycling instead of the static dosing I had been doing because of insulin resistance. So I switched on my own and now am trying to work out how to dose this for me. My doc is helpful, but I don't believe she has others doing this. Consequently, I was getting horrible low E symptoms on .1 + .025 every other day. Thanks to your post, my doc was willing to up my vivelle to 2 of (.1) every other day, so I will see if that helps. I am also switching my P but couldn't get the Crinone that Dr. S recommends. I guess the good thing is that I am becoming conversant in what are low E symptoms. I also haven't had the cycle Dr. S says you want as either my E was too low or my P was too low. What I can't figure out is why low E bothers me so much and doesn't seem to affect many friends my own age (55). Thanks for your help, and I will probably be asking more questions. Guest guest
Liz, My E came out at 150-170 by blood tests, but I still got low E symptoms and it may have dropped because I stopped my testo per Dr. Schwarzbein's Menopause Power info. I haven't been checking my blood sugar lately due to big event coming up, but will re-start in 2 weeks. I would love to hear from people who have reversed the insulin resistance by getting their sex hormones right as I don't really know anyone but am going by what Dr. Schwarzbein says. Of course, I seem to be the only one I know going through all the thyroid, adrenal, sex hormome issues also. I was thinking that my blood sugars seemed higher during the 2 week P supplementing but haven't done this long enough to get data so maybe I will know later this spring. I do know that doing the combined continuous dosing (not high either) that I used to do, was giving me insulin resistance problems for sure. Deb in MI > > Deb, > I too, have insulin resistance.
