Guest guest
Most of the side effects of HC are for those huge doctor doses. The amount of HC that's typically taken as adrenal support is generally 1/2 the amount healthy adrenals would make in a 24 hour period of time. There is an excellent book on the subject by McK Jefferies " The Safe Uses of Cortisol " . Check this out: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/safe-uses/ Please remember that the WP amounts of progesterone are over dose amounts, progesterone gets stored up in the body, and excessive progesterone can affect adrenals in a very negative way. And adrenal issues suck, and can affect other processes in the body. I've known a few that have gone off WP cold turkey. They monitored thyroid/adrenal function and " saliva tested " sex hormones along the way, and took various supportive supplements when necessary (including smaller amounts of estradiol). It took a few months, but they overcame the WP. Let me be clear, it was the scary high doses of progesterone that caused the major problems. I also see where some are " weaning off " WP estrogen " and " progesterone. Now, since progesterone gets stored in the body, and there's a LOT of WP progesterone, there's NO NEED to wean off it. I mean, it's like trying put another 20, 15, 10, 5 gallons of gas into an already full gas tank! beth, from looking at your pre-WP testing, it looked to me that you might have had thyroid stuff going on back then - I mentioned that to you. And adrenal issues usually accompany thyroid issues. Compound that with the WP overdosing of e and p (p in particular) and it's no surprise things are way worse. That's my 2 cents.
