I have continued to nurse my almost five year old only during his asthma attacks because it turns off histamine responses in him almost immediately. I have been breastfeeding a younger child so I have milk to spare for my older son in times of need, but I also advise adoptive moms in this area as well. Yes, it is possible to get your breastmilk back! Let me know if I can help. Guest guest
I am thinking about relactating as my son's detroyed GI cannot handle anything. I am wondering if anyone here has done this and if they know what Dr G's opinion of this would be? Also thinking of trying a strictly raw fruits and vegetables diet and would appreciate feedback on this as well. My son has been on a very strict SCD-caveman diet of just soup meats, soup broths and soup veggies for over a year and we've seen nothing from this diet and need to make a change now. Guest guest
Did you ever look into the Body Ecology diet? I know some adults who have had major GI issues that were corrected over time with this diet (and also could not tolerate much fruit either). You can modify it also to the diet, and leave out the high allergen foods. The author also has some section on autism, I think called BEDROC- body ecology recovering our kids- there may be a book on this also. The author is Donna Gates. Lactating would seem to introduce even more allergy issues to me, since a whole addition person would be involved as well, twice as confusing?. Just some thoughts. If you do not have anyone to work with, I know a dietician who works with many ASD kids and with major GI problems, if you are interested, let me know and I can pass her name along, I think she does phone consults and is familir with the BED diet and many others. She also is familiar with diet from myself.
