Guest guest
Hello, For a very outgoing person I feel quite awkward on here! I am having a hard time bothering any of you out there since I have always been the r.n. who could pretty much figure out my own darn period or ask the ob docs where I worked in maternity in Arizona. We moved to Va and I'm working in my Orthopedic husbands office. He knows nothing about womens problems! My deal is that the two drs. I've gone to for bhrt have different opinions and even get a bit testy if you tell them you want bhrt. I found a nurse practitioner who would order me the very low oral dose bhrt. then we tried bhrt creams again very low dose. I called her office to get a higher dose so I would actually cycle and, she had quit. Great! So now I have my husband and the compounding pharmacist until I can find a good gyn dr. They put me on biest 1mg=1ml twice /day and prometrium 200. when I completed this months cycle I still haven't gotten a period. I did take the prometrium 100mg vag.2x day for 5days the last 5 I took it oral. Could that be the problem? or maybe In November I took Provera only for 10 days and got a period. Could the provera have messed me up? I have had about 5 periods on my own this year. Right now I feel like I should get a period any minute but so far its been two days since I finished the bhrt and nada. I have had simple hyperplasia before so I want to definitely cycle. How long does it take to get there? Thanks for any suggestions. Caroline
Guest guest
Hi Caroline It can take a few months of consistent E plus cycling of the prometrium about 10 or 12 days in the second half of your cycle in order to begin getting a bleed after menopause has hit. > > Hello, > For a very outgoing person I feel quite awkward on here! Guest guest
Caroline... Re-reading your post, I believe that, yes - the Provera could very well have had something to do with having the shedding period and then not getting a period for this long. The nurse of one of my doctors took Depo provera shots and told me that the doctor told her that it can cause a women to have no period for any time up to a year...she also said that depending on a woman's age, 3 shots in a year could keep her from ever having another period and it could certainly keep her from ever conceiving - TRUE? I don't know, but I do know she never had another period and was in her 30's Caroline wrote: ..... In November I took Provera only for 10 days and got a period. Could the provera have messed me up?
