Guest guest
> My son has recently (past month) started screeching loud pitch while playing ,also running up to people and pinching them laughing while doing this. Any ideas what is going on with him? Thanks Caroline> Caroline, I had this with my son, he also hit people as well. It was attention seeking behaviour, at one stage he was suspended from school he was that bad (a specialist autistic school). There could be physical problems ie yeast but I knew with my son he would look for a reaction - its most likely a combination of physical problems and learned behaviour. I was advised to ignore the behaviour but when hes hurting people you cant. We had to keep him away from situations ie not take him out. I basically had to be very firm with him, I also made a point of giving him lots and lots of attention, when he was being good and quiet and encourage him "gentle hands" (hes non verbal). Also I used used DMG behavour balance liquid (by kirkman) and Chromium GTF, because I noticed he would get more hyper after eating (blood glucose levels) and fish oils. Hes calmed down a lot, but now hes spitting (cant win - you swap one behaviour for another). He also used to clap and bang alot (really loud) and my daughter who is high functioning autistic woudl get really upset as she cannot tolerate loud noises. I noticed that with biomed treatment the better he got the more attention he craved and wanted. Its hard work but try to notice when hes being really good and quiet and reward him. Although your not supposed to a couple of times when he has pinched and slapped I did it back to him and he didnt like it, but I had to stop when he began to treat it like a game (attention). In a way I look at these stims and attention seeking behaviour as a good thing they are showing like any other kid "hey I want attention", problem is they often choose a very unsociaable and painful way to do it Good luck L & P Caz

Guest guest
Thanks for all the feed back.. Its so hard to figure our kids out some times.. Ill order that from helios and give it a shot. These behaviours seem to have clamed down some what, i had him on sporonox for yeast ran out of it and things improved. FWIW i have heard that spitting can be due to low l carnitine or two much phosphorous..Good luck..
