Guest guest
Hello, I'm 55 and had a partial hyst. In my early 30's. I still have one overy and am post menopausal. I just recently had my second BHRT (T & E) pellet insert a couple of weeks ago. After researching online I felt that it would be beneficial to add progesterone and asked my doctor what he thought. He indicated that that would be a good idea and was prescribed a cream from a compounding pharmacy. The dose was 200mg of P. I started using this cream and soon found that I was extremely fatigued and depressed. I felt terrible and discontinued use. I'm really confused and was wondering if I could get your input on the benefits of it's use. I was thinking of giving it another try cutting the dose in 1/2 or even 1/4. Thanks for your input.. Guest guest
200 mg of cream is CRAZY! 200 mg pills are used sometimes- with the consideration that only a small fraction of this amount will reach your receptors after being processed by the liver. Some creams are absorbed almost completely, The average starting dose for a cream/gel is usually ~ 20 mg.VikiTo: rhythmicliving From: dickandvickie@...Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2012 18:12:22 +0000Subject: Progesterone? Guest guest
Hi Vickie, I too, just had a pellet insert. I was using a tiny bit of sublingual P (3-6 mg at night) and was feeling pretty good. I stopped for a while just to give a break to my body. You might want to consider a tiny bit. My dr says she likes to use it for 3 weeks and give 1 week off. I do not have a uterus so she said I really don’t need to use it all if I don’t want to. But the tiny amount helps things all the way around. And I can’t believe I am even saying this as I have had a horrible history of P overdose. Liz Hello, I'm 55 and had a partial hyst. In my early 30's. I still have one overy and am post menopausal. Guest guest
I know it's a crazy amount and if I try to cut it down I'm not confident in how accurate of a dose I will get.. I made a mistake in my previous post. The script was written for 400MG of P. that is what I was using when I hit the floor. I called the pharmacy and they said the dose was really high and suggested that I use a half a dose 200MG. I still felt terrible. Each 400MG dose is in a tube with 5 lines, so if I use only one line it's still 80MG, I guess I could try to dispense 1/2 line and cycle it 3 weeks on 1 week off. I'm so confused. I feel so much better with the pellets, but it would be nice to have more energy... Is there an advantage to adding the P? I apologize for the confusing posts, but I'm really confused and I have read so much conflicting information.... Thanks again, Vickie
