Guest guest
I'm all for keeping dosing low so it doesn't throw the system out of whack. And yes, too much t3 is a system whacker. Have you talked to the doc that did the abdominal surgery? Taking probiotics? Using magnesium (that loosens the bowels up - omg - lol)? That's a serious surgery? What happened to your bowels? I took a radical move. I don't eat any grains or dairy and I keep the oils in the omega 3 dominant. Very happy guts. Laurel > HI Everyone > > Finally I feel like im getting somewhere with this whole HRT business. I've moved on to being on the Climera patch and this has helped my migraines A LOT. I use two 100 patches per week. However, Im still having some constipation and crawling skin even with two patches and Im wondering if taking more estrogen would be a bad thing? I can probably tolerate the crawling/ itching, but the constipation drives me INSANE. Ive had a lot of abdominal surgery and now have an ileostomy bag and constipation is very hard to manage in these circumstances. > > Im wondering if my high t3 dose is creating a lot of SHBG and this is reducing the available estrogen Im getting from the patch. > > Appreciate your feedback > > Thanks! > > > > ------------------------------------ > > click here for our webpage http://rhythmicliving.com/ > > **The group conversation is informational in nature and is not intended as medical advice.**
Guest guest
I think I have a problem with grains as well. Had emergency appendectomy six weeks ago and was bothered with immediate and urgent diarrhea every time I ate Mexican food before the surgery, and it's worse now. I think it's the grains. Too bad, I love corn. But I really do think the chips and such really destroy my gut. I hate the thought of not eating them, but I have to do something. I think I'm going to give going off grains a whirl. Gael Have you talked to the doc that did the abdominal surgery? Taking probiotics? Using magnesium (that loosens the bowels up - omg - lol)? Guest guest
HI Laurel, Hmm, I think passed having my system out of whack a looooong time ago. It's positively broken at this stage I have definately talked to my sugeon about this A LOT! In hindsight, onstipation and abdominal migraines were my first symtpom of low estrogen. But before that was identified I had several MRI's, exploratory surgery for possible adhesions, a capsul Camera proceedure, and two endoscopy's. He wont do any more to tests. I had the colectomy due to Crohn's Disease. When I first started WP I felt amaaaazing for the first two weeks on just the estrogen, but as soon as I started the Progesterone I ended up in A & E with the worst abdominal migraine I have ever had. My specialist now believes that I get these migraines from drops in estrogen (which would have happened as soon as I started the P dose). I am taking the t3 due to Reverse T3 Dominance, it has worked really well for me. I can not tolerate Whole Thyroid or T4 as I seem to convert to reverse t3 too easily. I have tried all the supplements in the world (well feels like it anyway) including fish oils, magnesium and probiotics). I am on the SPecific Carbohydrate diet which excludes grains/ soy/ dairy/ sugar/ startchy vegies. I know 110% that this is due to low estrogen as it gets much worse towards the end of the 7 day life of the patch. I still have other low estrogen symptoms that need resolving as well. The good thing about the patch is that Im not getting the estrogen drops anymore because the delivery is more consistent for me than the cream. Feel like there is still some way to go:(. Cant wait until Im better. THis has been an ongoing battle since I was 28, now Im 33. Over it. 2 patches is only 2mg a day. My adrenal glands are shot too, so Im probably not getting any extra e from them to help things along. Anyway, off to bed. in a lot of pain:( Jo > > > HI Everyone > > > > Finally I feel like im getting somewhere with this whole HRT business.
