Guest guest
Helen,Wow - what a bummer! I know for a fact that when I have too much progesterone I am totally over-stressed and literally can't handle anything very well. My doctor, Dr. Schwarzbein, understands this. Please google her, her information and knowledge are excellent. After a year of stopping the Wiley Protocol and working with her, I now am starting to feel great. Went to see an endocronologist today to try to get to the bottom of my anxiety. I feel certain it is directly related to my being overdosed on progesterone for 2 years. My anxiety kept growing and growing (even after being off the progesterone for a year) but all the doctors I went to denied it could be the progesterone. The endocronologist said he couldn't find any study that showed women could experience anxiety because of progesterone overdose. He also said the women who claimed they got anxiety from the progesterone weren't "experts". Helen
Guest guest
Sheree, I didn't think Dr. Schwarzbein had private practice or took patients. Guess I'm confused??? Guest guest
Helen,I think she takes women that have been on the Wiley Protocol. You can call her office and ask, . But you can now access all her information on how to manage your hormones with your doctor on her website. I would suggest that you call her office and talk to someone about your concerns.ShereeTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Wed, June 20, 2012 7:11:25 PMSubject: Re: Any studies that can tie progesterone overdose to anxiety? Guest guest
Well, I cannot give you any specific medical advice or information, but I can give you some food for thought based on my personal experience. I am post-menopausal and I take hormones primarily to deal with my Attention Deficit Disorder difficulties. The doctor I saw in Washington, DC is an expert on the relationship between hormones and the brain. ( A.Simon, MD, a reproductive endocrinologist - http://www.jamesasimonmd.com/) He understood my neurological ADD problems. One of the first things he told me was that progesterone makes women with ADD " fuzzy " - that was his exact clinical terminology! So, since progesterone obviously affects the brain in some manner, I would assume that it has the possibility of making a person anxious. Sue Went to see an endocronologist today to try to get to the bottom of my anxiety. He also said the women who claimed they got anxiety from the progesterone weren't " experts " . Helen

Guest guest
Studies? Is this doctor kidding? It is right on my insert sheet! Read below!!!! Now granted Megase is synthetic progesterone but if you look up any progesterone drugs you will find the side effects as anxiety. I looked up progesterone for you too and what does it say, anxiety. Tell him to look up drugs.com or any insert in any pharmaceutical form of progesterone. A lot of pregnant women become anxious too, they are in a naturally high progesterone state. Megace side effects Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Megace: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as: high blood sugar (increased thirst, increased urination, hunger, dry mouth, fruity breath odor, drowsiness, dry skin, blurred vision, weight loss); nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, or feeling like you might pass out; sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body; chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, fast heart rate; or high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion). Here is progesterone Progesterone All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Progesterone: Bloating; breast tenderness; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; fluid retention; headache; irritability; mild hair loss; muscle pain; nausea; spotting or breakthrough bleeding; stomach pain or cramping; tiredness; vomiting. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Progesterone: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); abnormal vaginal bleeding; breast lumps or pain; bulging eyes; calf or leg pain, swelling, redness, or tenderness; coughing up blood; fainting; mental or mood changes (eg, depression, anxiety); migraine or severe headache; new or worsening memory problems; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent stomach pain or tenderness; shortness of breath; swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; symptoms of a heart attack (eg, chest, jaw, or arm pain; sudden, severe nausea or vomiting; unusual sweating or weakness); symptoms of a stroke (eg, confusion; slurred speech; one-sided weakness); symptoms of liver problems (eg, dark urine, pale stools, yellowing of the skin or eyes); trouble walking; unusual vaginal discharge/itching/odor; vision problems or changes (eg, double vision; sudden, partial, or full loss of vision). > > > > Went to see an endocronologist today to try to get to the bottom of my anxiety.
