Guest guest
Dr. Larrian Gillespie says estradiol cream is not well delivered through a cream base; that an alcohol base is a better delivery system. Progesterone cream fails to protect the uterus in 32% of women. Gillespie is not a big believer in testosterone for woman. Val -----Original Message----- From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of kat943 I'm so gad I found this group! The progesterone in the Wiley protocol does not work for me. My biggest challenge right now is figuring out how to restore my libido...my poor husband! I have been taking E cream for several years and tried other things, like the Vivelle patch. For awhile, the cream worked fairly well and then then it seemed to wear off. I decided to try the Wiley protocol, and the increased E with that seemed to help. I DO NOT like the progesterone. It is nice however, to have an enhanced bustline! I also take testosterone, but I find dosing that either too high or too low to kill my libido. I would love to hear from the group what has helped with your sex drive.
Guest guest
Val, I'm having the same issue. I can't seem to find the magic formula for restoring libido. It doesn't seem like the testosterone is making it better. The only time it seemed good was on the way out of a tempest of progesterone. The libido happiness lasted for three days and I haven't found that magic again since. Maybe I need more progesterone, but I never want to have the unpleasant experience of too much P again and it's hard to find the line. I would love to hear others' insights on the libido issue. > > Dr. Larrian Gillespie says estradiol cream is not well delivered through a > cream base; that an alcohol base is a better delivery system. Guest guest
I would like to hear from anyone that has had any degree of success regarding libido with their bio-identical HRT. I was faring better when I used a different compounding pharmacy for my E cream and took a compounded P pill instead of the cream. When I have used just a tiny amount of the testosterone cream-in the past- it has helped. For some reason things just aren't going as well now. I use very little of the P cream that I have now and I don't use it for the full 14 days. I'm kind of at a loss at what direction to go now. If I have P toxicity, how long does that take to go away? Thanks for any and all advice :-) > Val, I'm having the same issue. I can't seem to find the magic formula for restoring libido. It doesn't seem like the testosterone is making it better. Guest guest
Hmmm, this explains some suspicions I've had. I've wondered if I was actually absorbing the E very well. About four years ago I seemed to absorbing the E cream reasonably well, and then then I changed compounding pharmacies and the cream felt different, less oily. I needed so much more of it for the same effect! Where do you get the alcohol based E? I really liked the delivery system in the Nuvaring birth control device. I don't the the typeo of P or level of it they use, or else I would use that as HRT. As for the T, maybe many women don't need it, but I have tested really low, and when I take tiny amounts, it does help a lot of things. I think the cream delivery system is not the best for the T and it's easy to get too much. But I definitely benefit from having at least some. Without any, I don't ever need to shave my legs and my eyebrows thin out and libido is zilch. With it at the right proportion, these things come back. I can't imagine telling women with almost no T that they wouldn't benefit from it. Is Dr.Gillespie's stance that no women should supplementation with T regardless of their levels? Guest guest
Am wondering why Dr Gillespie is not an advocate of T for women? We produce that " naturally " during our reproductive years, correct? I am one that has been on hormone pellets (E and T) for almost two years. (After struggling first with P over dose and then unsuccesfully trying many other forms of BHRT.) Now that my E and T levels stay pretty consistent/higher .... My libido seems to be, for the most part, corrected. I think it's a delicate balance. If the T goes too high, there could be issues. When I cycle my prometrium (vaginally) for my 12 days, it pretty much takes away all libido .... The testosterone, I believe, has been a very important proponent in giving me my life back. I have the motivation, once again, to exercise. Not only do I exercise ... I see results! I used to exercise with zilch results.
