Guest guest
I am pretty sure it hit my house. There were 4 of us down with it. Guest guest
We have it here as well. My youngest got sick last Saturday and I have kept both boys home all week. My older son started to get sick late Tuesday. I am just now coming down with a sore throat. My kids pediatrician would not test them for it. She said that the Ohio Dept of Health is the only one that can give the test but when I spoke to someone at their school, one of the adults working there had a confirmed case of it. We are all hanging in there. All the best, Jill From: meljackmom <meljackmom@...> Subject: Anyone dealing with H1N1 yet? Guest guest
My younger son (3yo) got sick with flu like symptoms last Wednesday, we took him to the pediatrician and he tested positive for Influenza A. The pediatrician said that most likely it was the H1N1 flu, we have had him at home since last Wednesday trying not to get other children sick. Around half of the children and many of the teachers in the preschool got sick to the point that they closed the preschool today. My younger son developed a really high fever for one night (104.6), we gave him Motrin and it went down. The next morning he had a fever of 100 degrees that it lasted 1 day. He has been fine since then. I took my older son (5yo) who is Dr. Goldberg's patient to take the pneumonia vaccine the same day my younger son got sick. We all started taking Tamiflu to try to avoid the flu (I don't really know if Tamiflu works or not, but we are taking it) and we are also taking probiotics. I read a study/article that said that probiotics help lower the probability of getting the flu or if you get the flu it doesn't hit you too hard. So far only my younger so got the flu, everybody else in the house is fine. JR From: eszbibb@... Date: Thu, 22 Oct 2009 18:30:43 -0700 Subject: Re: Anyone dealing with H1N1 yet? Guest guest
We have several confirmed cases in all of our schools. I think that it is everywhere. My husband did not want to go to open house at the school tonight because he is afraid that he will get it since he is so run down. He just returned from a year in Iraq on Monday. Guest guest
It is confirmed in my kids' elementary (k-3) school, as well, and in their 'sister' campus (4-6). We are in north coastal San Diego. It went through a community just southeast of here a few weeks ago. Guest guest
Well, if I just returned from spending a year in Iraq, I am not sure if I would want to go to a school meeting regardless if H1N1 was out there. I am glad to hear that your husband is back. I would suggest to every one here to just take it easy for a while and not exert yourself. Guest guest
Agree with Jill....Bless your husband, glad he is home. And for those in high risk groups they really should avoid contact...this is a nasty one. > > > > From: meljackmom <meljackmom@ . com> > > > > Subject: Anyone dealing with H1N1 yet? > > > > groups (DOT) com > > > > Date: Thursday, October 22, 2009, 8:53 PM > > > > > > > > According to health officials in our community, H1N1 is affecting all of the school kids. Once i read that it doesn´t work if the flu began 2 or 3 days before. Guest guest
Hi Our pediatrician prescribed Tamiflu for my Nids son. He prescribed it within 72 hous of his onset of fever. Our pediatrician said it would still be helpful within the 72 hr time frame, and it would knock a day or 2 off of the duration of the illness. However, we stopped it as it caused vomiting and he was already having enough trouble keeping fluids down. Hope this helps, > > > > > > > > > > > > From: meljackmom <meljackmom@ . com> > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: Anyone dealing with H1N1 yet? > > > > > > > > > > > > groups (DOT) com > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Thursday, October 22, 2009, 8:53 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > According to health officials in our community, H1N1 is affecting all of the school kids.
