What a wonderful plan. 10 mg of P in suppository form for 10 days a month. Nice low dose to the area that needs the P. Not chronic, not blasting, not overkill. I'm curious what amount of E you are using with that nice dose of P which brings a monthly bleed. How long have you been doing this? Laurel Schwarzbein has me on a compounded progresterone...currently 10mg (whatever that means). I insert them morning and night on day 18-28 and then have a nice period on Day 28 or Day 1. I feel great on it but I do understand some women don't tolerate it well, especially if they have a huge buildup of P from the WP she says.Anyway, works for me. Oh, the suppositories I use are in olive oil...beth

Schwarzbein has me on a compounded 5mg progesterone suppository morning and night for days 18-28 and I have a monthly bleed. I am on (4) .1mg vivelle dot patches 2X per week. This month I only took the progesterone for 3 days because it is still so toxic to me and I couldn't tolerate it any longer. However, I still started a bleed today which is Day 28. We have decided to keep doing this or going for 2 or 3 months with unopposed estradiol and then taking the progesterone for a bleed to reduce the lining. She explained to me this week that progesterone is like poison to me right now after the overdosing of W.P. My liver enzymes are shooting out my estrogen as fast as I get it so I have symptoms of too little estrogen and symptoms of too

much progesterone. She also explained that the W.P. messes with every hormone group within 3 months of being on the protocol and then messes with all the receptor sites. We have receptor sites all over our bodies and we can't decide where the estrogen will bind during the healing transition. She explained that my brain receptors may be starving while the receptors in my uterus are functioning. And all the progesterone that is stored in my tissues will not help protect my uterus but will continue to give me unwanted symptoms as they get released. I have been with for almost a year and even though I feel better, it will probably take another year to be really well. She also explained that when my metabolism is healed and my hormones are balanced, the weight I have gained will come off. She also explained that if you have had a hysterectomy you don't need progesterone. You can take the estradiol that

you need with no P and no monthly bleeds. ShereeTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Fri, April 20, 2012 2:36:43 PMSubject: Re: progesterone suppositories

Sheree, Thanks for the update. I so appreciate what is doing for you and that you check in with us and share what you are learning. It took me several years to get off the roller coaster from the WP. I could use E in hugely high doses and yet it just zoomed through me. It delights me now that I can get too much E after several years of never enough. For both my mom and me if we get too much E we get a pain in the right side of our neck - tight muscles. And finally I get the squirrely jittery feeling with too much E. ha ha! My body isn't sucking it up and dumping it as you describe in your note below. And yes, weight loss came eventually too. Double checking with you... are you on a total of 8 patches a week? 4 patches and then 4 more for a total of 8? I recall you saying in the past that you are on a huge dose compared to her other clients, but this is expected after the WP.Laurel Schwarzbein has me on a compounded 5mg progesterone suppository morning and night for days 18-28 and I have a monthly bleed. Laurel,I wear 4 patches at a time. I change on Monday afternoon and Friday morning. I also learned frombeth to not take the old patches off for at least 5 hours so that there is sufficient time for the newpatches to kick in.I am definitely looking forward to the day when everything is rightly balanced. Laurel, you have been such a support . Thanks so much!Blessings,ShereeTo: rhythmicliving Sent: Sun, April 22, 2012 12:44:54 PMSubject: Re: progesterone suppositories
